Spacious Double Ensuite Room with River View

We are a village pub, with rooms, focused on serving high quality, locally sourced food and drink. Above the pub, there are 3 ensuite rooms. Like the pub, the rooms are clean, elegant and simple. The essentials are done well. The beds are comfy and the showers hard to leave. There are no TVs, but the river flows past the window, and the Dartmoor National Park is a short stroll away. A spacious double room with a super-king bed, overlooking the River Walkham. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower head. Tea and coffee facilities are provided, as well as a radio, hairdryer and free WIFI. We took over the Leaping Salmon in 2017. It was previously owned by Enterprise Inns, and needed fairly substantial work done. Having spent a few years at Moro in London, and inspired by the clean, fresh food they have become famous for, the pub seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up. The plan was to reopen it as a pub, but focussed on serving simple, high quality, fresh food - nothing too fancy, definitely no foams or gels, and as fairly priced as possible. We opened in August 2018. Keeping the balance right between village pub and foodie restaurant has been at the front of my mind since we opened, and I'm proud that we have achieved a good mix. I'm a firm believer that a pub's atmosphere is at it's best when there is a decent blend of drinkers and diners. Being a pub, the atmosphere changes throughout the day - but the character of the pub remains relaxed, bustling and cheerful. Set on the edge of Dartmoor, the Leaping Salmon is a village pub with rooms, serving simple and carefully sourced food and drink. We are located on the western edge of the National Park, in the village of Horrabridge, overlooking the River Walkham. The pub is well-connected to excellent hiking and cycling routes, with tracks leading directly from the garden up onto Dartmoor. The market town of Tavistock, birthplace of Sir Francis Drake is a short cycle away, and Plymouth is 12 miles away.
