Au Poucouret sits in a secluded wooded grounds surrounded by fields with views south to highest of the Pyrenees, a typical farmhouse of the area dating from 1860s with open barn for badminton and basketball, 10 by 5 metre pool and shaded terrace. Private rooms available for smaller group or individual travellers. (Please apply for rate) Two large double bedrooms, both with additional single bed, one 4 bed dormitory, one small twin room and a single room. Two full bathrooms upstairs, one downstairs ensuite shower room and further cloakroom. Entire house and grounds or alternatively private rooms and share of remainder. I have lived in this area for many years and can provide local information on places to visit,weekly markets, current festivals etc. Quiet valley in the Astarac with view south of Pyrenees. Vist Marciac only 30 minutes away for the Jazz festival in late July/August. Close to the 'Tour de France' stages in the Pyrenees. Lourdes is also close by. You can also drive to Spain in 1 1/2 hrs. Toulouse airport - 1 1/2 hrs Tarbes/Lourdes airport - 1 hour Auch /Lannemezan Train station - 30 minutes There is no general roof leak. Last August one exceptional overnight deluge forced a leak, but since then a very wet winter and spring has caused no more. Climate change can produce the unexpected. This is a rustic and rambling farmhouse property surrounded by heavily wooded gardens and large fields of working agriculture. There is therefore varied insect and other wildlife and varying amounts of dust in the air and in hidden corners.
