HUGO - our chic uncomplicated pod. Do as much or as little as you like... just arrive relax & unwind. Peaceful private setting with exclusive bush track access to lake edge Te Weta Bay and jetty. Swim, hangout or launch our kayaks & explore beautiful Lake Rotoiti. Bring your own boat...or book the Water Taxi for pick up & drop off from our jetty [how cool!] and whisked over to the fabulous Manupirua Hot Pools. Treat yourself and take a break ... you deserve it! Minimalist studio-style space. Bespoke build with quality fittings based on a shipping container [Thanks to The Little Big Tiny House Company]. Keep your meals simple ... you are on holiday! Outdoor BBQ, microwave & electric frying pan. Pod has own driveway and is quite separate from our main dwelling. Privacy ensured with self check-in. Jetty area is a shared space with three families [occasionally you may run into someone having a swim]. Pleasant picturesque area. Narrow roads wind out along the peninsula and make for quite the adventure when first arriving. Goulding Road is a cul-de-sac [turn right for us] with only five permanent residential homes. Traffic is minimal. Park your vehicle in front of the pod [or on the grass road-side verge if you prefer]. Strolling around our neighbourhood & attractive reserves are encouraged. I'm never too far away simply send a message. Charming quiet residential enclave with a semi-rural feel. Beautiful local bush walk nearby that follows the Kaituna River to the Trout Pools featuring the Tutea Waterfall & Cave. Informative reading boards offer an insight into some the rich historical past of this area, including the site & remnants from the hydro-electric power station built in the early 1900's. Visiting our fabulous local cafe the Okere Falls Store is mandatory! Super casual dining or takeout, loads of healthy/raw options, good coffee & fab craft beer garden. Gourmet Burger night on Thursday & Fiesta Friday has great taco/beer deal. They mix a wicked Espresso Martini too! Exhilarating whitewater rafting trip on the Kaituna River - Rotorua Rafting are my pick, their base is next to the Store. Allow 20-25 minutes drive to Rotorua City for loads of activities and food options. Closest supermarket is Fresh Choice approx 15 mins. Zip over to Papamoa for a coffee & stroll on the beach about 30 mins each way or add another 10 mins & hit the shops at Mt Maunganui. 3pm check-in. 11am check-out ... plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely brunch & last dip in the lake before you head for home!
