Peter and Daniella's Beach Cottage
A comfortable and cosy cottage, six minutes from the beach with a large undercover, enclosed deck area. Just an hours drive from the CBD and a half hour ferry trip will get you to idyllic Mackerel Beach. The cottage has 2 bedrooms that comfortably sleep 4. An additional fold out bed is available if required. Original art , hand made furniture and movie posters add to the cottage's charm. Our location is quiet and peaceful. We are nestled between the mountains and the beach and are bordered by the beautiful Kuringai National Park. Wallabies, kookaburras, parrots, and other birds and wildlife are abundant. Don't worry about the weather as there are lots of movies, games and puzzles to keep you occupied or simply lounge on a chair to read a book. Coffee plunger, BBQ, large deck space, outdoor games, (darts, table tennis, boules and cricket) bikes, indoor games, DVD's, and books all make this a relaxing getaway from the city. We are contactable by phone or email. If unable to greet you personally we will provide instructions to find the house and access the key. Mackerel is a small friendly community made up of permanent residents, weekend and holiday guests. The walk from the wharf will take about 6 minutes. A wheelbarrow will be provided to assist with luggage and supplies. We usually walk or cycle to access the beach. Cars can be parked at Palm Beach Wharf. Access to Mackerel is by boat, ferry or water taxi only. There are no shops, so food and drinks must be brought over from the mainland. All houses are on tank water which we ask you to use with consideration. Bore water is used for the garden and the toilet. Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash away from the house. We have a large deck area (50 square metres) which is enclosed and under cover. (We also use a dog run on the front lawn). Dogs have restricted access to the beach in the mornings and the evenings.
