It is decorated with colourful artefacts collected from journeys around the globe. The spacious apartment, under the main house, has a comfortable queen bed at one end, with a trundle bed also available. There is an open plan lounge and dining area, newly renovated kitchen and bathroom with a shower and separate toilet. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, full size fridge, kettle, toaster, and sandwich maker. In winter (or on very cool summer nights) there is an oil heater and an electric fireplace to keep you warm. The apartment is built into the hillside, so the temperature inside is stable, staying cool in summer and warm in winter. Though we live in a very safe part of the nation, the studio apartment has its own security system which you can dis-arm when you arrive and re-arm when you leave. Your confirmation email will provide you with the code for key safe, the security system and the free Wi-Fi. THE GARDEN Our large garden features winding paths and secret hideaways to sit and soak up the silence and spectacular range views. The "Cloud Forest Tree" and the garden have been awarded prizes in the Carnival of Flowers garden competition when over 4000 people visited the garden over 10 days. There is outdoor table and chairs on the paved patio outside your front door. Seats and benches scattered throughout the garden. There is a also pop-out mat behind the door so you can enjoy the lush cushiony lawn. An ever-growing project, the garden beds are full of exotic fruit trees and bird-friendly shrubs. It features flowering gums, a cacti and succulents garden, a collection of gingers and Heliconias, waterlily ponds, aloes, bromeliads, fern gardens and an 18m cloud-forest canopy tree. Be engulfed by the sounds of crickets, cicadas, and frogs that change their tune throughout the day. Watch wild bird – finches and superb blue wrens -flit among the bushes with cockatoos, lorikeets and king parrots as occasional visitors. If you’re up early enough, you might catch echidnas or wallabies grazing the lawn or a goanna ambling through - but you have to go looking for the resident amphibians and fish. You are welcome to go spotlighting at night to see bandicoots, nightjars and possums. And, if you can drag yourself away from your hammock in our private estate, you can visit more than 150 other parks and gardens across Toowoomba! You have the whole self-contained studio apartment to yourself. I would be delighted to share the best spots in Toowoomba to see and the best places to eat.
