Elegant Gold Coast Getaway "The Folly"

Our elegant and private retreat in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland is easily accessible to both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Modern luxury in the tranquil hinterland only 20 mins to the beach, 10 mins to theme parks, 40 mins to Brisbane. Wifi means you can work as well if needed. The large covered verandah with BBQ and huge dining table is the perfect place for relaxed meals or drinks. A full kitchen, huge lounge room with fireplace, Netflix and Apple TV makes relaxation a breeze. Our bungalow, called "The Folly", is a spacious rural retreat with fabulous views, a large living space opening onto an entertaining deck, master bedroom with ensuite and 2 oversized days beds which convert to King Single beds when needed. It also has a down stairs bedroom with a double bed, a bunk bed (with a double o the bottom and single on top - and a full ensuite . A state of the art kitchen means you can cook for yourselves. Sit on the deck sipping champagne and relaxing overlooking the fields and mountains. The large lounge room with gas fireplace makes it a perfect winter retreat. The cool breezes across the covered verandah, the louvres throughout the house, service bar from the verandah into the kitchen and ducted air-conditioning all make it perfect in summer as well. It has wifi, Netflix and a collection of movies and TV series on Apple TV for you to enjoy on the big screen TV. Guests have access to wifi, Netflix and a collection of movies and TV series on Apple TV via the big screen TV in the lounge room. A private entrance and parking bay gives you privacy and the freedom to come and go as you please. Colin will greet you on arrival and be available if you need restaurant recommendations, shopping tips or other information but otherwise The Folly is for your private use. It is a stand alone dwelling separate from the main house on an 8 acre plot in the hinterland. You will have the privacy you need to unwind. Our valley is a hidden gem, there are country walks, cows and horses in fields and ducks on the creek that criss crosses the valley. There is an excellent a la carte restaurant within 5 mien drive through the valley and a modern day spa within the same distance. We are only 10 mins drive from the theme parks if that is your thing, 20 mins drive to the nearest of the Gold Coasts amazing beaches and 35 mins drive to Brisbane. If you are into serious bush walking, Mt Tambourine, Springbrook, O'Reilly's and Binnaburra are all within a fairly short driving distance. Check out the Night Markets at Helensvale for some great street food every Friday and Saturday night - just a 10 min drive away. There is great golf at Sanctuary Cove (12 mins drive), Hope Island (10 mins drive)and Gainsborough Greens (5 mins drive) We are a short Uber ride from either the Ormeau or the Coomera railway stations - both of which connect directly with Brisbane airport. To get the most out of your stay it would be advisable to have a car to enable you to properly explore all the Gold Coast has to offer. We can make restaurant recommendations for you in the local area, up at Mt Tambourine and down on the Gold Coast. Just let us know what you are looking for and we can help! The wine list is very limited though so we suggest you BYO wine if you are into the fruits of the grape! Colin is an excellent cook and breakfast can be provided at an extra charge and with notice the day before. We have our own free range hens and produce from our veggie garden at most times of the year. Dinner can also be arranged on request. A days sailing on our 40 ft sloop can also be arranged separately on request. Colin is a sailing instructor and lessons aboard our beautiful yacht on Moreton Bay are one of the extras available during your stay.
