A great place to wind down in a natural bush setting, near the stunning Sisters Beach and Rocky Cape and the rolling hills of north west Tasmania. A short drive to Wynyard and historic Stanley. The house has a casual atmosphere where children are safe inside and out. With a cosy fire, the living room is the perfect place to relax with a book or just gaze out the windows at the abundant birdlife. Situated in a small and friendly settlement around a beautiful lake, the house is great place to unwind with comfort. It is quite large, giving plenty of space for different family activities. The patio area is glass enclosed allowing security for children and small dogs (so they can't chase the wallabies) without restricting the views of the large garden and surrounding national park. The patio is the perfect place for sundowner drinks, watching the sunset and the local wildlife. There is a hot tub which is only available to guests staying more than 3 nights. Water for the property is pumped from a tank and restrictions are made on the hot tub when the stay is short as well as when the rain hasn't been reliable. Permission is required before using the hot tub and guests are made aware of safety issues with use by children. I am available by phone, email or texting. Although there are only a few houses in the settlement, should any emergency arise there are friendly neighbours who are happy to assist. I don't allow large noisy all-night parties that upset my neighbours but family gatherings are fine. It is necessary to have a vehicle as the property is not in walking distance to amenities and shops. However it is a short drive into Sisters Beach for a small store and bottle shop. Boat Harbour Beach is close as well, and has a lively surf club with restaurant, bar and takeaway facilities. It is a 15 minute drive into Wynyard to the large supermarket in Goldie St. The drive around Table Cape to the lookout is a must as the views along the coast are spectacular. In October the Cape is an amazing kaleidoscope of colour when the tulip farms are in full bloom. Other excursions which are not to be missed include a day to Stanley with a chairlift up the Nut and lunch at the pub. A 2 hour drive to Cradle Mountain with a walk around Dove Lake. Best for the average fitness. A drive to the Marrawah on the west coast, walk the empty beaches and feel the winds from across the ocean or a surf for the more hardy. A day out in Burnie to visit the town gallery and the Papermakers exhibition on the waterfront. Fish and chips on the wharf at Wynyard. The nearby beaches are quite different in character. Sisters Beach is quite wild and long with an intersecting creek for younger children to play. Boat Harbour is patrolled at weekends in the season and is more protected. The colour of the water is quite magical. There are various walking tracks through the Rocky Cape National Park which have various levels of difficulty. A vehicle is a necessity. There is access to the lake for kayaking but not directly from my property. There is public access at the entrance to the settlement. It is about 200 meters away.
