We know your holiday time is precious so choosing the right place is important. At the Seacliff Beach Retreat, we've included everything you need to make your stay with us smooth from the big things to the small details, all you'll have to do is unpack your bags & let the holiday begin. Our luxury, eco-friendly beachside retreat is a mix of chic, modern coastal styling, with elements of bohemian, vintage & mid-century modern decor. We love nature, design, art & comfort; we've designed each space with intent, creating a pleasurable experience for your senses, from visual aesthetics, textured fabrics to comfy spaces to inhabit & inhale the smell of the fresh sea air. Can you taste the salt on your lips already? The ocean is calling. Beautiful spaces are meant to be enjoyed. Beginning with your arrival at the Seacliff Beach Retreat you'll park undercover and have a choice of three bedrooms to choose from. The two second floor bedrooms boast enviable sea views and each have a comfy queen bed, whilst the quiet ground floor bedroom is appointed with two equally comfortable single beds. All bedroom windows have double glazing soundproofing, heat retardant surfacing and white wooden plantation shutters, to ensure you get a peaceful nights sleep. The retreats bed frames are all made from FSC certified hardwoods that have been sustainably sourced. Your bedroom furnishings evoke calm & are a peaceful haven to rest & regenerate; original artworks, stylish lighting, gorgeous linens, cottons , woollen quilts, plenty of cushions, pillows & extra throws & blankets, bamboo linen bathrobes & blue paisley print cotton kimonos are supplied in the two main bedrooms. Sweet dreams will be made here. After unpacking you'll want to head upstairs to check out the 180 degree coastal views from the retreats uberlarge shade covered balcony situated on the top floor. You'll find two recliner sun loungers, a bespoke metal & resin coffee table to place your belongings whilst soaking in the warmth of the sun, an extra long entertainers outdoor dining setting, a cool vintage blue hooded Ziggy BBQ & two gas outdoor heaters for those chilly nights made for star gazing, long conversations and cradling cups of warm herbal tea. For the cooler seasons we have a plentiful supply of warm, soft throws for you to huddle under too. There's so much to enjoy. Our gourmet kitchen is equipped for even the most discerning foodie. Integrated appliances, induction stovetop, Ceasarstone bench tops & a breakfast bar. Plenty of cookware, crockery, utensils & everything you'll need to create delicious culinary delights. We've even left you a few of our favourite cookbooks if you want to try out something new. We really don't like it when there aren't sufficient plates, mugs, bowls, cutlery, glassware or serving ware when we go on holidays, so if you stay at the Seacliff Beach Retreat that certainly won't occur. We've got your morning caffeine fix covered too with organic coffee beans, Smeg grinder & espresso coffee machine, a cold brew coffee maker & a selection of organic teas & sugar. You've also got a NutriBullet for your morning smoothie, toasted sandwich maker, soda-stream, toaster, kettle, large ice crushing blender and the all important holiday must have large fridge & dishwasher. Cooking away from home can often be difficult without all those things we are used to having on hand - that is why we've supplied you with some herbs, spices & staples; extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, black pepper, Himalayan sea salt, crushed chilli, oregano, fennel seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds & dried garlic granules, bay leaves & popping corn for movie night. There’s even a hot chocolate station to keep the kids happy or to savour on a chilly night; add your own twist to your hot chocolate with marshmallows, cocoa powder, cinnamon or nutmeg & dunk in a chocolate chip cookie or two. Is it time for a drink yet? You can start off the pre-dinner drinks with the complimentary bottle of local SA wine that we personally think is a palette pleasing drop. Cocktails or Mocktails should be easy to whip up with a range of barware, cocktail shaker, ice cube trays, metal straws & glassware nestled in the dining rooms built in cabinetry. The spacious open plan lounge room features a large inviting sofa with chaise & original acrylic canvas artwork evoking the colours & moods of the ocean. Open up two massive slider doors & sit on the sofa to enjoy the changing hues of the sea. Coffee & side tables, entertainment unit, loads of sofa cushions and throw rugs, a large smart TV & a superior cool sound system will cater for every occasion from chill to party vibe. There is a reading nook by the upper floors third large floor to ceiling window with two vintage leather butterfly chairs for you to curl up in & disappear into your book or perhaps for a session of mindfulness whilst resting your eyes, sometimes referred to as a catnap! Three handcrafted moroccan leather poufs can provide another break out space for enjoying board/card games, reading, listening to music or a chat. Behind you is a bespoke crafted Feng Shui double circle shelving unit made from recycled mahogany wood from disused drum kits. Did you already finish your book already or don't want to pack one? We also have you covered. We have a dedicated library space as you round the top of the third floor staircase. There you will find a range of quality good literature books, poetry, history, cooking, life affirming, human interest, easy beach day novels, copies of Dumbo Feather Magazine- interesting conversations with extraordinary people, crime, children's books, fun facts & stories for all adults & young teens alike. For beach days we've got everything covered too. Beach shelter, large beach picnic mat, bamboo low style portable picnic table, Turkish cotton beach towels, fold up chairs, a large esky on wheels, enamel picnic cups & plates , beach games & a tow along beach-buggy for all your gear. For the adventurous we have two kayaks, each with its own wheeled buggy & a range of various sized life jackets. If you've brought along the little ones, then we have eco-friendly sand toys for hours of endless play. When you're heading home after a swim & want to wash off the salt water & sand, just enter the property from the rear entrance to our private patio, where you'll locate the retreats wood-decked outdoor shower area. Place your gear on the Japanese teak bathing stool & rinse off with a backdrop of lush seaside greenery. Hang up your towel on the clothes line and head inside straight to your bedroom or the spacious bathroom on the same level. For those much needed stay at home rest & recover days we have you well catered for too. For digital detox days you've already heard about our library & cozy spaces but we have more to offer for home days too. With a full size table tennis table providing endless hours of family or adult competitive fun. We have board games including chess & checkers, card games, quizzes, coits, wooden dominoes & skittles, throw the hoop onto the hooks & much more. For times when tech is your go to for rest, with free wifi you can log into your favourite TV shows, music & podcasts for at home entertainment too. Feel like a long soak in a hot bath? You'll have access to some luxurious organic bath salts you can scatter in the deep bath tub to ease your tensions away. The main bathroom also has a rainfall shower & toilet. The retreat offers multiple mirrored zones for getting your glam on to get ready to head out. Want to keep up your healthy exercise routines? After a swim, beach walk or run and you might want to cool down and stretch; we all need to incorporate more unwinding in our lives, so we’ve made it easy for you with yoga mats, yoga blocks, yoga pose and exercise chart, and exercise bands. Take the time to do some deep breathing and listen to the sound of the sea in the background. And for those sometimes times that as business owners & leaders, we know are just in-escapable, when we have to log in to our laptops to get some urgent work off or check our emails or perhaps your teenager has to do some study for those up coming all important exams or assignments to be done in break time, we have a dedicated work space that is quiet & peaceful, away from the rest of the open plan area so you can focus & get back to holiday mode as soon as possible. The workspace also has a multipoint USB charging dock. Being art lovers ourselves we wanted to support local Australian artists in our curated collection. You will find the retreats white walls have been utilised as a backdrop to showcase pieces of exquisite, original artwork we've had commissioned along with pieces from international artisans, using ethically sourced natural materials & fair trade practices as well as some fun retro inspired prints & vintage nautical flags. We've collated a booklet on the retreats art so you can learn more about the pieces & the artists when you come to stay. How is the Seacliff Beach Retreat eco-friendly? We have used ethically sourced, sustainable, natural materials throughout the retreat. We've up cycled, recycled, used reclaimed materials from ecologically clean sources. Our rugs are good weave certified which means no child labour has been used to make them. Fair trade practices have been ensured and the hardwood timber used is FSC certified. Organically certified & sourced sea salts, olive oil, coffee, tea, sugar, body & hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, dishwashing & other detergents are provided. The toilet paper is sourced form Who Gives a Crap which is super soft, uses sustainable recycled products & donates profits to improving sanitation & water hygiene in third world countries. Tissues, serviettes, paper towel, bin bags, eco wrap, green foil, stainless steel reusable straws, chopsticks, clothes pegs & a charocal under bench compost for green waste. The retreat uses solar power & natural gas. We have used materials such as linens, cottons, wool, seagrasses, jute, ceramics, stoneware, rattan, metal, wood, bamboo, coconut, shells, feathers, glass, leather, rope, dried flowers & leaves, concrete, plants & driftwood to compliment our retreats style & eco-footprint. The other stuff that is also pretty important; two toilets, a washing machine, for parents with babies we have an eco high chair that adapts from baby to 7 years, a port-a-cot & eco cotton cot sheets, wraps & blankets. You have access to two secure undercover car park spaces on the property. There is also plenty of free parking all along the Esplanade from Seacliff toward Brighton. Nearby Glenelg & it's shopping precinct also have free on street parking. Oh yes, if it happens to be rainy we've even supplied some groovy umbrellas in case you want to dash down to the hotel for dinner without getting your hair wet. However, just in case you want to explore beyond our beach retreat we have a few suggestions for you. The Garden Cafe Gallery on Wheatland Street offer great coffee, chai tea, waffles, vegan treats, all day breakfasts, local art and more. Freshly squeezed juice, kombucha, smoothies, a casual lunch or afternoon tea are at your doorstep at the Pirate Cat Cafe on the Esplanade. There are plenty of places to grab at casual meal, a glass or two of wine or a cocktail whilst looking over the gorgeous sea views that Seacliff offers. Try the Seacliff Beach Bar and Kitchen Upper deck Bistro at the Yacht Club or the Mariners Bar right on the Esplanade waterfront. Spoilt for choice right next door to that you'll find more beachside dining - think long lazy lunches and warm sea breezes at the open air restaurant of the Seacliff SLSC Cafe or kick back with the Acoustic sessions each Sunday from 3-6pm in the SLSC Restaurant after a day of relaxing or beachside fun. After a casual meal with the kids or a refreshing beverage in the sunshine? Ocean's Food Truck is nestled on the foreshore between the SSLC & the Caravan Park; serving up seaside traditional fish & chips, ice blocks, hot dogs, burgers, mediterranean foods, cold brew coffee, raw kombucha, natural sodas, cold pressed juices, milkshakes & more. The Seacliff Beach Hotel offers great meals and coffees, breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Icy cold drinks. fresh seafood, healthy salad bowls and all your pub favourites. Listen to live music every Friday & Saturday night. The Seacliff Beach Resort is ideally located to take in beautiful scenic walks along the coast. At the end of Wheatland street choose to turn right, due south, and you'll find yourself a few minutes away from the Kingston Park Coastal Reserve. You'll find a playground, a great beach for exploration or contemplation whilst enjoying the view back down the coast towards Adelaide. If you're after exercise then bring your walking shoes & undertake this must do spectacular coastal hike along the Marino Rocks boardwalk trail towards Hallet Cove. The 7.2km trail is officially called the Marion Coastal Walkway & commences from the Esplanade at the edge of the Kingston Park Coastal Reserve. The signage along the walk will teach you about the natural history, coastal vegetation, aboriginal Tjilbruke Dreaming heritage and the world famous geology of this region. Choose to turn left, heading due north, at the end of Wheatland Street and you're a few minutes walk away along the coast to the ever popular Brighton Beach and Jetty. You'll find two playgrounds and a coffee stop along the way to keep the kids entertained. The Brighton Esplanade and Jetty Road offer many dining and shopping options if you are wanting some coastal retail or beauty therapy. Further along the beachfront from Brighton you can take in public art sculptures, aboriginal significance, beautiful beaches and learn the history of the region and by following the coastal walk from Seacliff to Glenelg. Stand Up Paddle SA on the Esplanade has something for the adventure lovers; try yourself with stand up paddle board hire, lessons, or give the Paddle board Yoga and surf classes a go. The Seacliff Esplanade, any direction you choose, is a picturesque & safe place to go for a bike ride, with dedicated walking & cycle paths. Bring your own bikes, scooters, skateboards or tricycles or bike hire is available from Spin|way automated bike hire terminal located at the Caravan Park nearby. The Brighton Seacliff Yacht Club offers private sailing lessons for individuals, couples or families. Head over to their website or club rooms for more information. Once you've arrived and parked securely in one of the two undercover and secure lockup garage spaces you'll be able to unpack and let your beachside break begin. Just put on your Havaiana's or Birkenstock's and walk to the beach or any of the local eateries, wine bars or cafes. Feel like a bit of exercise? Don your sneakers and stroll along the beautiful coastal reserve pathways, or hike up the boardwalk stairs to check out the amazing views. If you want to lesson your impact on the environment and leave your car behind to head into the City, to Flinders Uni or Hospital or simply further along the coast, the Seacliff Railway Station is a mere 350 meters walk from the Seacliff Beach Retreat. The closest bus stop is located 250 meters walk from the retreat on Kauri Parade & will take you to the Westfield Marion shopping precinct or from Seacliff to Jetty Road Brighton, Somerton Park and Glenelg. The closest supermarkets are Foodland 1.7kms & Woolworths 2.3km , both on Brighton Road & open 7 days a week. You'll be able to find a good selection of organic & fresh produce here as well as ready made salads, antipasti, bakery goods & take home meals. Jetty Road Brighton hosts a number of specialty shops including the BWS Liquor store, bakery, art gallery, bespoke perfumery- organic & locally made bath bombs & perfume, massage, hair, nails & beauty therapy, Copenhagen ice-creamery, giftware, homeware, women's & mens clothing, baby ware & wide variety of cafes, wine bars, pubs and restaurants. The Brighton Jetty Bakery has a range of delicious baked goods including sourdough, seeded & rye loaves in addition to family pies, sweet treats & hot bakery staples with dine in options. The Chemist King Seacliff is your nearest pharmacy only 700m away at 675 Brighton Road Seacliff. The closest day/night GP clinic is the Somerton Park Day & Night Medical Centre.
