Make some memories at this unique, and family-friendly place. set in a rural country lane, quiet and peaceful. 'Penny Grae Cottage' was once an old Barn. NEW to Airbnb, recently renovated. It has a new contemporary feel. 1 spacious double, 2 singles. A large field across the lane which may be used. The country lanes present a perfect venue for walking or cycling. Nearest village is 3km. Large Supermarket 6km. It is very near a large reservoir which is perfect for walking, sailing etc Where do we start.. The photos listed do not do the Cottage justice. It is much more stunning in real life. There is electric shutters for each of the windows. You may prefer to have a small gap at night for a slight breeze? The double room is spacious so an extra cot could easily be put in here. Plenty of drawers available plus a rail for hanging. The single bedded room is just right for two single beds with a large fitted wardrobe. This stores the hoover, travel cot, high chair, iron, hairdryer and spare TV. should you need. It also gives some hanging space as well. The bathroom is stunning, with a large walk in shower. Drawers for the towels etc and a large mirror with lights on. This makes it more easy to apply your make up or for shaving. There is a blue-tooth available on the mirror to play your music while in the shower. The toilet is set on a platform .(.the throne!) Please leave the main light on when showering as it has an extractor fan and helps stop moisture. Kitchen/ dinner is a shaker country style cream units. With easy close drawers and cupboards. There is plenty of plates cups cutlery etc. The hob is on the unit surface. There is a fridge under the units. Also a separate fridge with a freezer. large table which does extend, it Sits at least 6. Lovely to sit round together in the evenings, play cards or eat french bread and cheese, with wine of course or the local cider. There is a closed off fireplace which is blocked. A new washing machine for your use. Washing line outside pegs in cupboard. The front door leads straight into the kitchen. There is a ramp up to the front door, but its not easy access for a wheelchair. I call the lounge a 'snug' its just off from the kitchen. With a sofa, and two comfortable chairs. A new smartTV is available to watch. It has both French and English.. There is a spare tv in cupboard in bedroom, you may use this for kids Xbox etc if you want to. Ready and available is the WI-FI it has a good connection. Parking is best opposite the Cottage, across the other side of the lane. Your car can been seen from the windows in the cottage quite clearly. There is a very old barn across the road which is very old. We are told it could be as old as 16oo?? but we have no proof of the age. The barn also belongs with the cottage. Please watch the children crossing over the road as sometimes tractors come along. There is a large field which also belongs to the 'Pennygrae cottage'. The field has a walnut tree down the bottom end. When the walnuts are ripe help yourself. You may set up the table bbq and garden chairs over there. The rule is... you must put them back when finished. Please leave the area ready for the next guests. Please feel at home to use this space. Great to use for the children or dogs. Please do watch the dogs as the fencing is a little old. There is also a small area behind the Penny-grae Cottage. Also to the side is a small area with a few flowers. This is where we have put up a washing line. you may find this area easier to use than crossing over the road to sit out or bbq from? Just make yourself at home whatever you choose. We have two bikes female and a male bike if you wish to use please ask prior to your visit so we can ensure they are working. Bring your own helmets please. Do let us know by reviews, or telling us if there is anything which you feel would improve this lovely cottage. Please note it is a very old converted barn and can get cold in the eve. We have put some heating in for you in the form of electric radiator and a heater. It has oil central heating for the Winter months, but it will cost to use this. We are new to airbnb... so we are trying to ensure you are made welcome and comfortable. Leanne will welcome you and if there is anything you require please ask. Penny (owner) Leanne ( co host/Manager) whom is local I have mentioned parking above. Although you can park anywhere on the lane, there is a slight bend, so we recommend parking across the road. The area to park does belong to the 'Penny Grae Cottage'. You can park 2 or 3 vehicles there. My Co- Host 'Leanne' lives very near the cottage. She will meet and welcome you to the ‘Penny Grae Cottage’ She is available to all the guests and is happy to advise on the area. There are some lovely eating places and activities all fairly nearby. (Although a car is essential.) Leanne will help if there is any problems re the cottage. before or during your stay….or if it's just some local knowledge Leanne will help. Plus she speaks both English and French. Should you wish to bring a dog? there is an extra charge. Ensure no mess left on the field. Plus you need to check with Leanne prior. A few private houses in this hamlet. The Parking for your vehicle is opposite the cottage. Right by the field. The field is an extra which we offer our paying guests. Please feel free to wander around the field opposite the cottage. It has a lovely walnut tree in the middle and it makes a lovely place to picnic, BBQ or play games. You can take the table and chairs across, but it’s your responsibility to put them back. Please ensure the gate is closed after entrance or exiting. Walking, in this area is brilliant. it’s quite a flat area, with some lush areas to walk, or run if you feel like running? We suggest good footwear! A car is really essential if you wish to sightsee anywhere? Or If a trip to the main supermarket is necessary? The main supermarket is at least 6km away. There is a general store which is nearer in Trinate The sea is approx 45 mins to an hour away. Local Bakery is best in Trinate approx 3 km although there is also a bakery in Mohon also 3 KM away. Cycling is good as again it’s quite flat. There are two bikes which can be used (adults male and female) you need to check with Leanne that the bikes are ready to use and give plenty of warning that you would like to use them. This is at your own risk … we do not accept any responsibility for you using them. You will need a helmet. We like to get your reviews and do take them seriously so please leave them. I have been told that we never mentioned the price of our heating. we are charging 10euros per night or 50euros for the week. I hope this meets with your approval. you need to bring your own towels for showering. It is at your own risk when using the field. It is at your own risk if you use the bikes. Bring own helmets It is our responsibility to ensure you are comfortable, but we can only do this if you tell us when things are not right. old buildings do get cold in the evenings so bring an extra jumper.
