The Farm House Amamoor
We've had this farm in our family for nearly 20 years and we thought it was time to share the magic of this place, with everyone else. There's 80 head of cows that roams on this 200 acre property, a creek that runs through the middle where you can canoe and swim (if you're game). And plenty of space to explore, set up a picnic and admire the views. The property backs onto the Amamoor forestry if you like to go exploring or is 5 minutes away from the Amama Park Waterfall. The house is over 100 years ago, the timber used to build the home was also grown and milled on the property. It’s cold in Winter (lucky there’s a fireplace) and hot in Summer, but it’s definitely got a special charm to it. If you’re afraid of bugs and insects, we can guarantee you’ll see one or two. On occasion, depending on the weather there are small micro bats (that are a protected species), usually one or two, that also like to spend the night. We love them and enjoy their company, but if they do frighten you we are happy to come out and chase them outside. You're able to explore the whole property but you'll need to keep a safe space between yourself and the cows! We don't live on the property, so you'll be given details on how to find the place (as it doesn't show up well on (Hidden by Airbnb) maps) and how to get in. Just down the road is the town of Amamoor. There’s two cafes, and a local store which also serves as the post office and fuel station. Here you can get a burger, pizza or a coffee. On Wednesday and Saturday’s the old stream train, ‘The Mary Valley Rattler’ pulls into the town. A perfect little space to relax, disconnect and enjoy either taking some time out or spending a little getaway with friends.
