Located on Russell Island, within the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, our little island oasis is only accessible by ferry, making it the perfect escape. Leave your worries on the shore and rediscover the simple pleasures... drinks by the fire, sleep ins, hot coffee, a good book, a dip in the pool and reconnecting with nature. GETTING HERE Book your barge via Stradbroke Ferries (Sealink). From Redland Bay to Russell Island. Once at The Island Shack you will be drawn to the beauty of Canaipa Passage, and the view out to North Stradbroke Island and beyond. Check out @theislandshack_ on Insta for videos and more EVERYTHING YOU NEED The Island Shack has everything you need with a magnesium plunge pool, indoor fireplace, well equipped kitchen, Weber BBQ, pool table, games and plenty of areas to relax and unwind. BEDROOMS The master bedroom has a comfy king sized bed, fresh linen sheets and bedside lamps with USB charging. The blackout curtains are perfect for those lazy holiday sleep ins, or a well-deserved afternoon nap. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, fresh linen sheets and bedside charging stations. Draw the blackout curtains and enjoy a slow start to the morning with views of the pool and beyond to the Bay. KITCHEN The kitchen is well appointed with a freestanding stove and large fridge. Please note there is no working oven but there is an air fryer. The fridge and pantry are stocked with the essentials such as salt and pepper, olive oil, condiments and spreads. BATHROOM The bathroom has a day spa feel with beautiful limestone floor tiles, concrete basin and brushed brass finishes. Plush bamboo bath towels are provided for guests to make the most of their relaxing stay. OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING Cool off in the magnesium plunge pool and relax in the shade of the pool house (you might even finish a book!). The Weber BBQ is perfect for cooking dinner while enjoying the view and some games on the lawn. THE ISLAND Russell Island has plenty to offer with local amenities including: - IGA Supermarket - Local bakery - Kebab shop - Chinese takeaway - Cafes - Bowls Club - RSL - Services incl. police and ambulance Russell Island is part of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and inter-Island ferry transport is free! Nearby Macleay Island has a pub overlooking the water and a local golf course. It’s a great way to explore what the area has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you. Russell Island is nestled within the Southern Moreton Bay Islands and offers beautiful views of Stradbroke Island and beyond to the Gold Coast. There is plenty of wildlife on show at The Island Shack with Sea Eagles, Kookaburras, Rainbow Lorikeets and other birds dancing among the trees. The fishing isn't bad either! If you're lucky enough to get out on the water, exploring by boat is pretty spectacular. We recommend bringing your car to make the most of your stay. However, there are a few options for travel to The Island Shack - VEHICLE FERRY: From Redland Bay to Russell Island is a 1 hour journey and then an easy 10 minute drive to reach The Island Shack. Book via Stradbroke Ferries (SeaLink) PASSENGER FERRY: Operated by Translink, the passenger ferry leaves regularly from the Redland Bay Ferry Terminal and takes 20-30 minutes. Once on Russell Island the local taxi service can drop you up to The Island Shack (approx. 10 minute drive). Please contact us for the taxi details. KIDS Please note we are high on a hill with a captivating view but this comes with a steep drop off at the back of the house. Please be mindful if booking with children.
