BLESSING-2 is a warm & beautiful home nestled in the foothills of Kumaon in Bhowali. It is ideal for anyone looking to get away from hustle-bustle of the city, and yet be close to popular destinations like Nainital, Bhimtal, Naukuchiyatal, Sattal and Ramgarh - all within 10-30 min from the property. Equipped with all modern amenities, covered parking & kitchenette facility, Blessing-2 has been built to give our guests an authentic flavor of comfortable mountain life. BLESSING-2 is a comfortable hill home made in the Lawrie Baker hollow wall design for insulation, keeping it warm and cozy even in extreme climate conditions. It has 2 bedrooms, living room, open kitchen, covered verandah and car parking and a sit out on the deck level. Ideal for 4, it has 2 double beds and 2 sofa beds and can accommodate upto 6 guests. It must be noted that in Blessing-2, one of the bedrooms has an attached toilet, the second bedroom uses the toilet opening into the dining area and living room. A big covered verandah overlooking the valley has been designed to give our guests panoramic view of the beautiful Kumaon hills. The sunsets are specially stunning. The verandah is large enough for seating 6-8 people. The entire property is at 3 levels. One drives in from the main road onto the car park/ deck level. Blessing-2, our two bedroom home is below the deck level, whereas Blessing-1, the one bedroom home is above the deck level. BLESSING-3 combines the two homes to offer 3 bedrooms and two living rooms. We are all art lovers and the interior decor of our home features artwork and paintings all made by the ladies of the house. The caretaker's living quarters are on the deck level. Besides taking care of regular housekeeping, the caretaker can provide delightful home cooked food at very reasonable and affordable prices. Guests can enjoy lip smacking home cooked food sitting on the terrace facing the valley enjoying the cool breeze in candle light or under a moon lit sky or with low romantic light. Barbecue is available for use by guests outside the home. Guests may arrange for all raw materials including coal fuel and operate it on their own. Barbeque charges are Rs.150 payable in cash to the caretaker. Room heaters are available for the winter months at an extra charge of Rs.100 per heater per night, payable in cash to the caretaker. Guests need to climb 14 steps of stairs for entry and exit. Guests are advised to read through our house rules carefully so that their stay can be enjoyable. The property is located on the Bhowali-Bhimtal road, about one Km from the main Bhowali market. The market itself offers fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh meat, poultry and fish, all grown locally or sourced from farms and fisheries in the Kumaon hills. For coffee and cake lovers, the popular "I Heart Cafe" is a 5 minute drive away. And tea lovers should definitely explore the tea farms of Shyamkhet again a short 10 minute drive from the property. Bhimtal, Sat-tal, Ramgarh, Naukuchiyatal and multitude of temples including the famous "Kaichi Mandir" are all within 20 minutes from the homestay. For nature lovers, there are enough forest trails to explore - head out towards the market and continue towards the Bhowali Air Force base all the way to the military school - The walk till there and beyond is rich with mountain birds, trees and beautiful views of the valley. One can always wander off the road into the hills and find beautiful clearings between the tall pines that make for great relaxing spots. The closest railway station at Kathgodam is a 45 minutes drive to our place. If driving, you can get to Bhowali from Delhi in 7 hours. While local taxis can be arranged for day long trips to nearby places, it is ideal to have your own car for commuting. Parking space is available in our homestay The caretaker's living quarters are on the deck level. Our caretaker lives on the property and besides normal housekeeping can provide home cooked food from her kitchen at very reasonable and affordable prices. She can also guide about the neighborhood and help organise a taxi service if our guests desire. Guests can avail the facilities of a functional kitchen equipped with cooking gas burners, refrigerator, microwave oven, mixie, toaster, hot water kettle and basic utensils for light cooking.
