Experience off-grid living at it’s finest! Get away from it all in our cosy cottage. Peaceful surroundings set in extensive native gardens with stunning views of the Southern Alps. Perfectly situated for ski fields, rivers, lakes, mountain biking, walking, rock climbing, the TranzAlpine train, horse riding and jet boating. Or just relax with a cuppa and a good book and soak up the fresh air and glorious scenery. Located only 45 minutes drive from Christchurch airport, just off State Highway 73. The cottage is modern, well insulated, double glazed, warm and sunny with a woodburner to keep you toasty in winter. Perfect for couples and families. Not suitable for children under 3 as there is no fire guard. Kitchenette with small fridge, gas hob, toaster, kettle. Tea, coffee, milo and sugar are provided. Extensive bookcase and board game/jigsaw collection so you wont miss the TV! Guests can walk around the gardens (approx 4 acres) and sit on the swing seat while watching the kids enjoy the trampoline. Our house is located about 60 metres away on the same property. We are available to provide local infomation. Always happy to chat about off-grid living and electric vehicles! Easy 20 minute walk to Springfield township, cafes, garage and pub. 15 minute stroll to Springfield railway station, 20 minute walk to the Kowai River. A great base for catching the TranzAlpine train to/from the West Coast. Our nearest supermarket is Darfield Four Square (20 minutes drive towards Christchurch), basic grocery supplies available at Springfield Challenge Service Station. Surrounded by a working farm so be aware that electric fences may be on.
