Lots of nature, animals & wildlife. Choose your preferred bed configuration of either a King or alternatively 2 Singles. A full timber kitchen, including a microwave, hotplates, mini-bar fridge, coffee maker and drink facilities are all available in the suite, to enable full privacy. All crockery, cutlery, etc is provided A Pocket of Paradise … ‘AMARETTO‘, our almond room, is totally self contained with a beautiful timber kitchen in the Villa, rather than sharing the main kitchen as do the other Villas. This allows guests to whip up delights of their choosing in private. No additional guests, nor children, can be accommodated in this suite. Our fixtures and fittings are not really child-friendly, and so we prefer to cater to guests 15 years and over. We have decorated the Amaretto suite in gentle shades of almond, highlighted with red, purple and charcoal accents, giving a very exotic feel to the décor. A full timber kitchen, including a microwave, hotplates, mini-bar fridge, coffee maker and drink facilities are all available in the suite, to enable full privacy. All crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils, etc are supplied, along with all bedding and bathroom needs. These are all of very fine quality, for your pleasure. It is in fact a total 'KitchenAid' experience, with toaster, jug, saucepans and utensils all of this deluxe brand - teamed up with a luxurious Royal Doulton Chilli Red dinner set and crockery to match. Restaurant quality, but all for your own private use! If you don't want to be bothered preparing your own meals, you can eat out at some of the local restaurants. We provide a complimentary selection of teas and coffees, with wine on arrival. The view from the Amaretto Villa is of pure nature, looking out across the land with the hills in the distance, and all of our unusual animals can be seen grazing around. Everyone who sees it is delighted. Amaretto is a short walk from the parking area with its own private access just across the small Japanese bridge, and includes a very large and private garden area for outside relaxation. Relaxing in the private garden is serenity at its best; couple that with the view of the ranges encircling the whole property and you have an area that exudes peace and bliss, giving a relaxing peaceful area to sit and watch the kangaroos at sunset. Each suite has a brazier / fire pit outside which beckons you to sit in the warmth of the glowing coals and gaze upwards to watch the magic of the Milky Way overhead! Fire restrictions must be adhered to, so please ensure you check with us if using the fires. The suite is decorated with a modern touch, coupled with a cottage feel, making the subtle decorator tones very easy on the eye. There is a full bathroom with shower and separate toilet - it is a dream with glass waterfall rain shower head and modern vanity basin. There is heating and cooling, a ceiling fan, radio and a TV with DVD player, including many movies to choose from. We also provide an additional deluxe cellular organic Cotton Blanket for use either as an extra blanket on the bed on cold nights, or to replace the beautifully light-weight 100% Wool Doona on hot summer nights. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic and has many wonderful properties which may also benefit your health. Eat out at some of the local restaurants if desired - but availability close by is limited. We provide a complimentary selection of teas and coffees, with wine on arrival. The Retreat buildings. which include only three suites, are 50 to 100 metres from the main house, so you will have a completely private space with no intrusions whatsoever - unless you ask for our assistance ;) Two-night minimum stay. We ask our guests to consider using fewer towels during their stay and not requesting a sheet change unless your stay is longer than a week. We use recycled furniture in the way of antiques when suitable, and even our buildings themselves are recycled, having been resurrected and shifted to our property, then fitted out purposefully for our Retreat. During your stay you will find Eco low wattage lights; separated bins for waste and compost, and natural soaps. We have also included the most desirable composting toilets available, imported from Canada. All water is supplied via Rain Water Tanks, so we ask you to be especially conservative and not to waste this precious and pure liquid! Our focus is on the environment and nature around us; you will have the constant pleasure of the beautiful sounds of birds. Based on a 40 acre rural property in the peaceful countryside of the Brisbane Valley, the setting is grassland and trees, filled with a multitude of wildlife, from birds to mammals and insects. The open day and fly-in each May is a popular event drawing aeronauts from across Australia. Back on terra firma visitors can walk, horse ride or bicycle the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail south to Esk or north to Harlin, where railway buffs will be interested in the Y turn and Yimbun tunnel. In town you will enjoy the heritage value of the quirky Alexandra Hall that shows movies every Saturday, complete with canvas sling back chairs. You can also visit the railway station now converted to a history museum providing local heritage and genealogy information, or drive by the unique architecture of the town’s wooden churches. The historic Nestle Condensery building, undergoing conversion into a regional art gallery, will open in 2015 and highlight local, national and international exhibits.
