The Tea Gardens Cottage - A fully renovated, heritage listed cottage built by Sir Samuel Davenport in 1852. Located in the idyllic suburb of Waterfall Gully only 12 mins to the Adelaide CBD. Ideal for people wanting a gorgeous getaway still within minutes to the CBD. Rich in history and some of the best walking trails of South Australia on your doorstep. Be surrounded by the breathtaking gardens. The property is as sustainable as possible with power being supplied from a Tesla Powerwall. The Tea Gardens is truly an amazing snapshot in beautifully preserved history with modern comforts. As soon as you enter the security gates of the property you will enter a wonderland with beautiful grounds and meticulously maintained gardens. With 2 on site car parks there is plenty of room. The heritage pathway that leads up to the Tea Gardens Cottage has a stunning verandah area perfect for a book and a cup of tea. There is also a creek that you can hear year round with flowing water from the waterfall at the end of the road at Waterfall Gully. The Cottage itself has original 1852 stone in the Main Bedroom and the fireplace. The Master Bedroom and Bedroom 2 are in the main section of the Cottage with a large common bathroom. We have arrived to make the Tea Gardens Cottage as eco friendly as possible. It’s powered by a Tesla Powerwall 2 and a very large solar panel set up. We have the highest spec eco friendly split systems just installed. Our wood is sustainable sourced from the wood lot on the property for the fireplace. A large shopping centre is near by. Guest have access to the magical front gardens and creek. There are 5 guest carparks on the Property, 2 of which are dedicated for the Cottage. The entry to the Tea Gardens Cottage is through the same gate that the main residence uses. You then walk up a gentle slope off about 80m of your own path to get to the Cottage. We may be home in the main residence and although the Cottage is located on the sounds grounds, you have your private car park and private path to your Cottage. Just ten minutes east of the city, along a winding road through the Adelaide foothills, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the stunning natural landscape of Waterfall Gully. Located in the Gully of the Cleland Conservation Park, Waterfall Gully is home to First Falls, an 18 metre waterfall that flows all year round. Equally stunning in the cooler months encased in mist as it is the warmer months, this protected bushland has an abundance of natural vegetation, a huge variety of flora and fauna and is home to a diverse range of native wildlife. Home to some of the best hikes, bushwalking and scenery in all of South Australia. You literally have this all on your doorstep. Its recommended that you have a car as there is limited public transport to the property. If your planning to stay at Waterfall Gully then you're likely well versed with the stunning locations and bushwalking thats available We are as off grid as possible. The home is powered by solar and a large Tesla battery. We recycle everything. We grow as much of our own food as possible. There is a great cafe, Utopia Cafe at the Waterfall which is a 15 min beautiful walk. It’s worth aiming to have a breakfast, brunch or lunch there as the food is great and so is the service. A must is a visit to Utopia Cafe
