We are situated 1 hour drive from Hobart, on the Huon River Estuary. The ambience of the property is a secluded, rural, actual waterfront acreage. Guests may enjoy the pebble beach and rock pools together with the private jetty for fishing. We have a secure fenced area adjacent to the chalet suitable for well-behaved pets. (At the owners discretion) Please make contact with us prior to confirming your booking to discuss the pet you intend to bring. The guest suite is totally separate to the main home. There is a comfortable living area with 1 bedroom consisting of a queen bed plus a single bed. A well-equipped kitchen and bathroom add to the ease of living. There are tea and coffee making facilities along with a toaster, microwave, stovetop and large fridge. Plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery are also provided. Breakfast provisions include cereal, bread, milk and our farm fresh eggs when the chickens oblige! A bbq is located on the deck We have good reception with both Telstra and Optus. Guests may stroll down to the waterfront, fish off the jetty, launch their boat, or moor their yacht. Their is always a bucket of pellets available to feed the lambs We leave guests to enjoy the chalet in privacy but are onsite if you need anything. Our Surges Bay property is calming and peaceful. Surrounded by water and bush, echoing the sounds of a variety of bird life. The property includes a boat ramp and jetty inviting water activities, or just drop a fishing line in and while your day away. At dusk you may be lucky enough to spy a wallaby or echidna feeding in front of the chalet. If you are thinking of coming by boat ask about our fully serviced mooring which is right out front. If you wish to be more adventurous you may venture out on numerous trips whether it be by car, motorbike, bicycle on the roads or canoe, boat or yacht on the river. Hobart is an hour away to the north and the journey south takes you to Cockle Creek with its clean air and pristine waters where you can embark on a variety of bushwalks. A drive to Cygnet provides for visits to markets, wineries, cider houses, cafes. Alternatively the Hartz Mountains and Tahune airwalk just an hour away provides many outdoor pursuits. For those who bring their pets a grassed, fenced area is situated adjacent to the balcony/bbq area - with plenty of space to stretch their legs This property is not suitable for children
