Tucked away in a little village in Varkala, Villa Akasa is a charming home-stay and just a few minutes walk from a beautiful, untouched beach. We have a total 5 exclusive rooms with "Amrith" being one of them. We have a great team to make your stay comfortable; one of them is Yakko - our lovely dog who is friendly and loved by all who come stay with us. We know what it’s like to live in paradise in God’s Own Country – it’s that amazing experience that we want to share with you. • Elegant room with a king sized bed and plenty of room for an additional mattress on the floor in case you are a group of 3 • Private patio to lay back and relax • Airy en suite bathroom with plenty of natural light • Patio opens out to a garden and a pond • Breakfast included • Homely Indian dinner can be arranged if requested in the morning • Free wi-fi • Air conditioners in the room • Taxi to and from the Trivandrum airport can be arranged at an additional charge I live on the property and guests are welcome to approach me for any help or recommendations they need. I love Varkala and am happy to share my insights about the place and about India as well. Villa Akasa is in the heart of a village that is still barely touched by tourist development. We invite you to sit out on your private balcony and listen to the unique sounds of village life: the whisper of the coconut trees, the chirping of crickets during the night, the sounds of worship during the day. A short walk down the hill will lead you to the beach. This part of Kerala is geographically unique as it is the only place in Kerala where cliffs touch the Arabian Sea. The aqua green water contrasts with the bright red of the cliffs making this the perfect place to swim and to watch the sun set. Close by there is also a traditional Kerala style temple which is over 2000 years old. This temple is steeped in legend and myth and has an ancient energy; visiting it is a beautiful experience. Other attractions of Kerala - elephant rides, house boat trips along the backwaters, ayurvedic massages and treatments - are easily arranged. 400 metres down the road from Villa Akasa is a quiet beautiful beach which we love. The North cliff or main tourist area is a twenty minute walk or short bicycle ride away. You will find some beautiful restaurants perched along the cliff edge and small shops selling curios and beach clothes. Auto-richshaws or scooters can easily be arranged for you.
