The house was built in 1580 for Richard Clutterbuck a wealthy wool merchant. We purchased the house 9 years ago as a wreck and renovated it. We have 3 letting rooms and a small sitting room for use by guests. The house has lots of character . We purchased the house 10 years ago as a wreck and we hope sympathetically restored it to it's former glory, in keeping with it's age we have taken great care in furnishing the rooms with antique furniture and interesting curio's . All rooms are equipped with a microwave, fridge, kettle toaster,TV DVD (I have a large selection of DVD's) and of course WIFI. Breakfast includes, cereal, fruit, muffins OJ etc etc....you will not be leaving hungry !! During the warmer months guests can use the summer house and access to the garden should they wish to eat alfresco and a small sitting room upstairs should the weather unseasonal ! Upon arrival you will be given keys enabling you to come and go as you wish We can offer advice on where to eat and make reservations for you as places do get booked up, the following are our favorites, The Olive Tree in Nailsworth, The Old Badger in Eastington , The Crown at Frampton Mansell and The Frocester George in Frocester We are located 1 mile from junction 13 of the M5 so easy access to Gloucester , Bristol and Cheltenham. The nearest train station is Stonehouse (about 1 1/2 miles) I'm happy to pick you up should you need. There is a bus from our village to the local towns but the best way to see the Cotswolds is by car. Leonard Stanley is a small village located close to the Cotswold way and about 10 mins from the award winning Stroud farmers market on a Saturday, In the village is a small pub 12th century church and home of Godsell cheese which is one of only 5 farms that make single Gloucester . Cheese can be purchased upon request from the farm . We are also 10 mins from Frampton on servern which boost's the longest village green in the country and happens to be one of the prettiest villages around , it also has a village pub, cafe and wonderful walks. Other place's to visit are Berkerly Castle (25 min drive ) Sudeley Castle (1 hour drive) but plenty to see in the area, Slimbridge Wildfowl trust (15 mins drive), Rodmarten Manor arts and crafts house about 20 mins and Cirencester which was the Roman capital of Britain, plus much more !
