Studio ensuite room at villa Huntly House

Huntly House is a renovated 1911 villa mansion. The studio room is an ideal overnighter for short stay visitors to our peaceful area. Your room is located at the rear of the house and offers a comfortable bedsit with your own access off the rear shared deck with parking just outside your room. Room for boat, trailer, caravan parking. Enjoy complimentary WIFI, tea, coffee and fruit. Wander across to the small secluded beach and boat ramp or visit Waitete Pa and enjoy the waterside serenity. Huntly House was the first home in Palmerston North with it's own power supply. The studio is the original 1911 generator room that serviced the main house. Now relocated in Clarks Beach the room is cosy and comfortable and located at the back of the villa in our tidy service area. You will see us come and go from the shared parking area. Access to the shared laundry and washing line is accessible from this deck. Self check-in, digital lock Usually onsite and available in the evenings or via mobile. Waiau and Clarks Beaches are located on the southern side of the Manukau Harbour and enjoys a wonderful holiday seaside escape. If you like to fish or kayak, this is the perfect location for both (bring your own gear!). Waitete Pa is located at the end of our road as well as a boat ramp and access to deep water for swimming at the ramp. Beach access is just opposite our driveway - safe swimming at high tide and a beautiful quiet sandy beach for reading or snoozing under the pohutakawa trees. Clarks Beach is a few minutes drive - golf club, Chinwags restaurant, liquor store, dairy, take-aways, playgrounds, skate park, public toilets and multiple beach access points. Visit Awhitu Penninsula (Manukau Heads), Waiuku - Kariotahi Beach and Castaways, Glenbrook Vintage Steam Train, Kingseat's Spookers and many country cafes, local pubs and weekend markets. 40min off-peak drive to Auckland Airport (approx 48kms) and 20mins to the Southern Motorway (SH1). Most local roads are 80km/hr speed limit and 50km/hr in built up areas. Give yourself a bit of extra time to arrive at your destination as farm vehicles and horse floats are often on the road during work hours. Huntly House is situated on 22acres of farmland. Often we have farm animals grazing the land and so our permanent and moveable (poly wire) electric fences are always on. It's best not to touch them :) We are currently landscaping so we are not picture perfect just yet (Nov 2021)!! Front gate needs to be kept closed when no one is on site especially when sheep are in the neighbouring paddock (I will advise if this changes). We have a working sheep dog on site. If I am not on the property she will be leashed and kennelled. She is not allowed inside or on the decks. Elderly long haired cat also on site. A bit like the elusive Loch Ness monster - you will be lucky to spot her!
