FULL REFUND IF COVID PREVENTS TRAVEL. RATES REDUCED TO CELEBRATE RE-OPENING. One of the best positioned homes on Gower. Amazing views (cover photo is view from bed!), stunning beach, village pub, bistro and spectacular walking/cycling from the doorstep. Self-contained annex (double bed, kitchenette, bathroom) listed separately. Plenty of space and easy parking. Games room, wifi & satellite to keep everyone happy whatever the weather! Check-ins on Sunday by prior arrangement only. Channel view allows even large family groups to have their own space with separate large dining room, as well as a breakfast bar in the kitchen, sitting room and even a games room with mini table tennis and a pool table (which has been very popular with all ages). There are 3 large bedrooms - 2 doubles and one configurable as a twin or king. The front of the house has views over the sea from all windows, including the iconic "Worm's Head" rock formation just off the coast (home to a huge range of bird life and a seal colony). There is direct access to National Trust land (including the World Famous sunflower fields in the summer, which can be seen from the front rooms) that means from the front door you can access some of the most spectacular walking (and cycling) in Europe. The walk to the Worm's Head is largely on a level surface (occasionally used by the coastguard vehicles) so is accessible even to wheelchairs. We tested this when Elizabeth had her leg in plaster and was on crutches and we made it to the very end and back, even on a wet day, in a wheelchair. The "Worms Head" pub and great food at the Bay Bistro are 2 minutes walk away and there are several other local cafes and quirky shops, including an art gallery. There is an adjoining self-contained annex (Lundy Lodge) that can be combined to give an even bigger space (Lundy Lodge is listed separately as it can be booked independently. However, there is a discount if both properties are booked together making it very cost-effective). The additional price for this will depend on season and length of stay, and can be provided on request. We have access to other properties if you can’t find the dates you want. Channel View caters comfortably for 6 adults or can be combined with the annex (Lundy Lodge (which consists of a ground floor bedroom with a double bed, a kitchen/breakfast room and a shower room/toilet). Channel View has sofas that could accommodate additional smaller guests at a push, as well as a travel cot. Both properties are self-contained, if required, with separate access to each. There is a patio and barbecue area with great views. There is a shed to store body boards and wet suits. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but only on the ground floors and not on furniture or beds as we need to be sensitive to our guests who are not so fond of our furry friends! If our cleaning team have to spend longer than usual cleaning the property after your departure then there will be additional fees taken from the deposit. Check in time is 5pm and check out is 9am. Full instructions as to how to access the property as well as contact numbers will be provided. Guests will be left in peace assuming that we are not alerted to any anti-social behaviour. Rhossili is considered to be the jewel in the Gower coast crown (the Gower itself is a beautiful area, being Britain's first protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Number 1 in the New York Times places to visit 2021!). The beach at Rhossili has frequently been awarded a spot in "World's Top 10 Beaches" awards (including Conde Naste) as there is 3.5 miles of gently shelving soft sand backed by sand dunes, with water that is safe enough for bathing yet with some of the best surf in the U.K. It is dog friendly all year round (as the tide washes most of the beach daily). We love keeping the windows open at night to hear the waves, and the sunset over Rhossili has consistently been voted one of the best in the UK. Rhossili is a gorgeous village with a pub, bistro, coffee shops and an art gallery. There is a National Trust shop and other seasonal shops and there are plans to have a tea room in the National Trust shop in 2021, to make the best of the spectacular sunflowers and lavender that grow on the headland in the summer. The city of Swansea is only 35 minutes drive away, but there is little reason to leave the Gower as there are several pubs and restaurants (including a Michelin restaurant at Oxwich) as well as plenty of shops for supplies. There are also numerous other beaches to explore, almost all within walking distance, depending on how energetic you are feeling. South Wales boasts many other spectacular sights, ranging from several ancient castles to the remote splendour of the Brecon Beacons. Unlike most of the coastal villages in Rhossili, the road is wide enough to take 2 cars in all but a very few places. There is a comprehensive bus service with a bus stop 2 minutes walk away that covers the whole of the Gower as well as a service to Swansea.
