Rome Retreat

Our house is situated north of the city center in a lush, green valley immersed in the true Roman countryside. Our local village of Castelnuovo Di Porto is a beautiful medieval village where you will find numerous restaurants, bars, ice cream parlours, supermarkets etc along with direct rail links to the very heart of Rome’s city center. The old village, with it’s medieval castle and stunning piazza allows you to sit back and relax in the piazza bar and watch the world go by without you! Your apartment is recently renovated and everything in the apartment is brand new (2019). You have your own private enclosed garden outside your apartment plus a separate sunken terrace area with sun-beds and BBQ facilities which is exclusively for your private use. The apartment is spacious, luxurious and designed with your every need in mind to allow you to just relax and enjoy your holidays. We have two labradors which roam the gardens (except for your private garden outside the apartment-there is a fence!) and we have pigmy goats fenced off in various areas of the garden. There are fly screens on the windows and although there is no air conditioning in the apartment, that is because it remains very cool throughout the summer months and does not need it. You will have your own private garden and a sunken terrace to sun bathe or have a BBQ etc with spectacular views of the valley. We live on the property and although we both work we should be around during your stay should you need any help or advice and we’re always just a phone call away. The area where we live is really a true piece of paradise. We have the best of both worlds as there are numerous stunning villages within 30-mins (by car) from our home plus Lake Bracciano is approx 40-mins (by car) and the hustle and bustle of the center of Rome is a direct train ride away. We are lucky enough to have various national parks for walking, bird spotting, cycling etc and there are various sailing schools at the lake should you wish to take a boat out and see the area from a different angle. Throughout the year the area has various markets and food /cultural festivals to celebrate the local gastronomy/culture, giving you a true insight into how Romans really live! Botanical gardens and various famous Roman villas and all their splendour are within the surrounding region just waiting for your visit......and so are we, so, let us show you how life really is in Rome without the masses of tourists! You will need a car to arrive at our home and it’s easy to arrive from the airports with a direct link to our local village from the main motorway. You can reach us within 35-mins (by car) from both airports (Fiumicino & Ciampino). From our home into the village center will take 3-mins by car or you can easily walk in within 30mins (it’s very hilly so depends on fitness levels). There is free parking in the village and in most of the area and surrounding villages.
