My home is about a 12’ drive from City Beach or North Beach in Wollongong and 15’ from Port Kembla Beach and pool. I am 7’ drive from Unanderra Station and 10’ from Wollongong Station. There are supermarkets at Unanderra and Figtree, both close by. Western Suburbs, Unanderra Council Pool is 6’ drive. In these times of the pandemic, you will need to go online (I'm not allowed to enclose the link here) for information and to book a lane. Kiama is a 35’ drive and Berry another 15’ from there. I have a lock on my WIR and my glass display cabinet and my linen cupboard otherwise the entire house is at the disposal of my guests, including the contents of the refrigerator and pantry. I have recently put looks on one book case and on my linen and broom cupboard. I leave out a broom and the iron and ironing board. I am happy to take requests for extra linen in addition to what is supplied, eg extra towels. My home is on an acre of land which is on a slope, some of it steep. I share this one acre property with my daughter’s larger home. No part of her property is to be accessed. I am contactable by phone. My daughter and her family are next door if there is an emergency otherwise. My favourite places are Headlands Hotel in Austinmer. The view is gorgeous. Then the atmospheric Woolshed cafe in Yallah is one of my favourites, despite its uninspiring location. Of course Jamberoo and Minnamarra Falls are within easy driving distance, as is Kiama (try the Milk and Honey cafe) and Berry as well as the Southern Highlands. The drive to the town of Picton, up the pretty Harry Graham Drive and then onto Mt Keira Road and Picton Road, is worthwhile if time permits. George VI Hotel or Moses and Barnes Cafe would be my recommendations or lunch. The main street offers more than a first glance suggests. Unanderra Station has plenty of free parking and it is a short drive, perhaps 6-7 minutes, from my home. Access to my street is on a short but steep hill and my home is on a steep block of land. I have renumbered my home 1A. There is a lovely walk at the bottom of the hill towards Mount Kembla and there is a bike path. My area is very quiet and peaceful. My home is set among tall trees. Mount Kembla pub is close by, approximately two kilometres. The Thirroul Beach Pavilion, 25’ drive, is on the beach and is a good place to try. It is licensed for weekend dinners and is very popular if you have small children. It is literally on the beach. You can stop by there or the Scarborough Hotel on your way back from the truly impressive Sea Cliff Bridge. Another suggestion, if you want to see the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge, is to park in one of the two smallish parking spots that are for The Scarborough Hotel on the right. Then, if you decide that is your venue for a drink or a meal (and they do breakfast) your spot is reserved. The walk from there to the bridge is about two kilometres and the views are worth it. It is mainly an easy, level walk, even if the path isn’t always straight.
