CLOVELLY - Original Kiwi Bach

Clovelly is a real authentic kiwi Bach, that still retains it's original charm after 80 years. Its a great place to spend your summer holidays being a very short stroll from Oakura beach. Clovelly has a new modern kitchen, new deck, off street parking, sea views and private outdoor garden areas. Toilet outside, laundry and bathroom downstairs. Please note still NO WIFI Clovelly is one of the first, and now the last, original baches in Oakura. Very simple, uncomplicated layout. Bedroom and lounge upstairs. Shower and washing machine downstairs. Original outside shower and separate toilet. Oakura has seen a lot of changes, but we have tried to change very little at Clovelly, and where we have, we hope it doesn't show. When you stay here we really hope you step back into time and experience amazing seaside holidays like I did. As guest you can access the whole space. Gardens and house. Park in the drive and pick from the garden. Soak up the sun on the lawn and wash the sand off in the garden shower. We live in New Plymouth but we are always available and only a phone call away. Oakura is a charming seaside village 10 minutes walk from the bach and only 15 minutes drive from New Plymouth. It has a garage, fish and chip shop, cafes, chemist, pub, four square supermarket, restaurant and craft shop. Black Sands Pizzeria & Bistro and the surf club are only a 2 min walk from Clovelly . Drive out to the Bach and park up the car for the weekend. Walk to the village from messenger terrace. Visit Koru Pa ,and explore the neighborhood . My mother saw an article in the 1931 Auckland Star about the seaside village Clovelly in Devon. She kept the article and yearned to visit the small hillside village where donkeys pulled carts up and down cobbled paths. Later on her OE with her parents , she finally visited Clovelly and fell in love with the place. After she married, she brought a small piece of land off a farmer. My father built, under my mothers instruction, the Bach . The cobblestone walls , chimney and pipe handrails all from her fond memories of Clovelly
