Formerly the manager’s residence, the home has been recently renovated and is beautifully furnished. Easily accessible being just minutes from Mt Barker and Strathalbyn; and a short drive to all of the amazing Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek wineries. Even the beaches of the Fleurieu Peninsula are only 35 minutes away. Guests can feel free to roam the property; but please remember that we live in the main homestead so please respect our privacy by not entering the gardens or areas around the main home. Please feel free to check out the horses and cattle that call Glen Lea home - but please be aware that they may pose a risk to your safety so you may not enter paddocks or yards with animals and you should refrain from trying to let or feed the animals unless your hosts are available to accompany you. Your hosts reside on the property and can often be found working with the animals, gardening or just enjoying the relaxing surrounds. We do our best to respect the privacy of our guests and leave you to your own devices. However, we encourage you to say hello if you wish, or should you have any questions at all please feel free to call. Glen Lea is a working farm with horses and cattle. Nestled in the beautiful area known as Bugle Range, the surrounds are quintessentially rural Adelaide Hills. Being in the South Eastern corner of the Adelaide Hills, Glen Lea is not only in close proximity to the famous wineries and restaurants The Hills are renowned for, but the lesser known producers and kitchens of Langhorne Creek are equally as commendable and are only a 20 minute drive away. Our location also places you within 10 minutes of the historic town of Strathalbyn, with its wonderful antique stores, and only 35 minutes to the beaches of the Fleurieu Peninsula. A truly magnificent location to explore a great selection of provincial South Australia’s best attractions. For those who would like to enjoy some of the finer things the region has to offer, please do not hesitate to contact us for recommendations on where to visit, eat or drink. Many cellar door restaurants book out on weekends, so we recommend booking in advance and we can help guide you to the best options wherever you may wish to go during your stay. Similarly, we suggest you consider booking a driver in advance should you intend sampling the offerings of the many restaurants, wineries, breweries and/or distilleries in the area.
