Fully equipped and cozy maisonette (two-story house) in a strategic location just off the village of Dyo Choria. Offers two private terraces with magnificent view to the typical Cycladic surrounding and is comprised of two bedrooms with double beds, equipped kitchen and bathroom. Ideal for families, couples and groups of friends. This is a 60 m2 maisonette (two-story house), conveniently located few meters off the village of Dyo Choria, in 400m altitude up on the Kechrovouni mountain in Tinos Island. This house has been intended to be a peaceful family vacation home from the outset, therefore decoration and arrangement is simplistic and relaxing. During your stay, it will offer to you and your co-voyagers a pleasant and colorful stay. The main entrance introduces you directly to the spacious and luminous integrated living room-kitchen space, which makes the lower level of the house. On the one side of this integrated space, you will find the living room, which is equipped with an unpretentious and comfortable set of a couch and armchairs. The couch may be easily turned to a bed which can accommodate an extra person. The ambience is fresh and bright and through the southern window (in front of the couch) you can see the Kechrovouni valley underneath, Triantaros village, Chora and infinite Aegean Sea. On the shelf under the small table you will find some books, brochures and magazines about Tinos (unfortunately many of them are in Greek) which might be useful during your stay in the island (please allow future visitors to consult them as well!). Opposite to the living room, you will find a modern, spacious and convenient kitchen which features a classic electric kitchen with oven, a double sink, a medium size fridge with freezer, a basic set of cutlery, along with other useful kitchen tools such as corkscrew or cutting board (in the first drawer), a generous set of dishes, glasses and mugs, and also some cookware: pan, casseroles and a briki (for Greek coffee). A water boiler, a filter coffee machine, a toaster and a coffee mixer are also provided. Moreover, the cupboards are roomy and you may use the upper far left cupboard located in order to store food, coffee and other delicacies. There is also a multi-purpose and practical broad bench at the edge of the kitchen, very close to the main entrance. However you will not resist to use the table as the main all-day spot, which is located just off the kitchen’s door, on the lower terrace of the house. There you will find a roomy wooden table and director’s chairs, where you can take breakfast, lunch or dinner and enjoy the beautiful view, protected from wind and sun. The upper level of the house is accessible by a staircase with not many stairs, which is located right next to the main entrance. This upper floor is comprised by two bedrooms, the bathroom of the house and the most privileged terrace of the house. The decoration and arrangement of both bedrooms follows the minimal and relaxing spirit of the house. You will find in each bedroom a double bed (1,50X2.00m and 1,60x2,00m) with a small bed table aside, very spacious wardrobe and drawers, as well as a mirror with a small bench underneath for your cosmetics. Also, both bedrooms have stunning view from their doors and windows to the neighboring villages, the coast around Chora, the sea and the islands close to Tinos. Moreover, both bedrooms provide autonomous exit to the upper floor’s terrace. Please note that the bedroom which is located opposite to the end of the stairs is the “default” bedroom for reservation requests made by two guests wishing to share bedroom. Indeed, this bedroom is ideal for couples as it features a slightly biggest double bed and a balcony door “strategically” located in front of the bed, which offers beautiful view even when at bed. The bathroom is simple but pretty convenient. It is located in between the two bedrooms and offers a sink, a toilet and a walk in tub. A window offers natural ventilation and light. The terrace at the upper level of the house is a delight. It is spacious and offers an awesome 180o view of the landscape that lies around the house. From left to right you may observe Dyo Choria village, a part of Mykonos Island, Delos and Rinia, Triantaros and Berdemiaros villages below, the coast of Ag. Fokas beach, Chora, Syros Island at the background, and Arnados village on the left. The valley underneath the terrace is filled with houses, pigeon houses, olive trees and dry-stone walls. The terrace is covered by a pergola, in order to offer comfortable shade during the day and is equipped with a “handmade” sofa, a chaise-longue and a small table. Spare chairs located in the bedrooms may be used as additional seats. Best terrace-time is in the morning, when you may observe from above the maneuvers of ferries at the port while taking breakfast or at night when you may enjoy the serenity of a sky full of stars and a landscape full of shivering lights along with a glass of wine. Last, the house is autonomous and the neighborhood is very calm and surrounded by nature. There is also a little garden surrounding the house. You are free to use and enjoy the lower and upper level of the house as described above. You may also park your vehicle inside the fenced area around the house. However, please refrain from taking the stairs leading to the basement, which is reserved area. Also, you may not access the surrounding fenced properties. You will always have a contact for helping you with the house and your stay in Tinos. As I am not very familiar with internet and not very competent with foreign languages, I have appointed my son, Thodoris, as co-host of this entry. He is an experienced AirBnB host (for reviews see here: https://www.airbnb.gr/rooms/5321986) and polyglot and will help you with any inquiry you may have, starting from the reservation until your check-out. In the rare case that neither I nor Thodoris are in Tinos Island during your stay, don’t worry. Communication with either me or Thodoris will be always safeguarded via phone or the AirBnB platform, while I could arrange that a trusted friend helps you with anything you may need on spot. Don’t forget to ask us tips and information about our island! The house is located on the upper slopes of Kechrovouni mountain, in 400m altitude and a few meters (less than 400m) outside the settlement of Dyo Choria village. Kechrovouni mountain is located just above Chora and the port of Tinos (~9km). The Dyo Choria area makes part of the “Pano Meri” of the Island of Tinos (“upper part” of the island). Arnados and Triantaros villages are very close to the house and both host tavernas and nice all-day bistros. Moreover, Steni, Falatados villages and Exomvourgo, among others, are in the neigh. Chora and the port are also close to the house (15’ ride by car or motorbike). Closest beach is Lychnaftia, a relatively remote beach with white pebbles. In Dyo Choria you will find a Taverna, right in the entrance of the village, which serves quality traditional and local food. Also, there is a very picturesque big square few stairs above, where you will also find cafes and bistros. In order to access the house you will need a vehicle. In order to reach the house from Chora or from any other location of the Island, you shall head towards the village of Dyo Choria (this is approx. 15’ ride from Chora and the port (~9 km)). Please note that there is no official address or numbering in the street where the house is. However, you will easily recognize the house which is located few meters off the west end of Dyo Choria village, on your right hand as you leave Dyo Choria and you head towards Arnados village by taking the unique road that connects these two villages. Please compare the photographs of the house and you will easily spot it. The exact geolocation of the house is: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) At this spot you will find a cement uphill ramp which leads to a metallic bordeaux-coloured door. In order to get in the house, you shall go up to the cement uphill ramp and the house will be the first one you will see in front of you after that door. You may park your vehicle everywhere after this door, inside the fenced area. Parking on the sides of the street is also possible. Drinking water from the tap is not recommended. I will take care of providing a bottle of water upon your arrival but you should think of getting bottled water from Chora or from a taverna at the neighboring villages. There is hot water available-you just have to turn on for about 15 min (then turn off) a switch with the indication "Hot water" from the main panel, which is located right in the beginning of the staircase of the house. Please take care of not letting it turned on continuously. You should note that nights at Dyo Choria might be chill even in the summer time and that nature is everywhere around. Upon arrival, the house will be clean, the bed(s) will be prepared and towels will be provided. If for some reason you need extras, please contact me. Please show respect to the house, the neighbors and nature. *Please note that this is a pure non-professional AirBnB entry and not a hotel.* Therefore, no reception, room service, linen change, daily cleaning or similar services are provided etc. You will find all cleaning material needed in the house, below the kitchen’s sink and in the bathroom.
