THE SWAN HOUSE ON THE ROCK

The Swan House is an old family house on the cliff, under the beautiful lake of Zbilje. It is very unique, peaceful place, which is very good situated. The old part of the house is dated 1905. Many books, texts were written here, because the proprietor is very known anthropologist from Slovenija. So, place is good for personal research, reflections, and of course discovering the country. Beautiful view, silence, lake, swans and much more we want to share with you! The Swan House is perfect location from where you can easily reach any top attractions in Slovenia; Ljubljana (capital city) - 15 km (10 miles), Bled - 45 km (27 miles), Postojna Cave - 62 km (38 miles), Koper 115 km (71 miles),... All interesting locations are reached by car in a day. For example 20 km (12 miles) away is Krvavec - the best Slovenian ski resort, Golf place in Smlednik is 4 km (2 miles) and two very good restaurants with Slovenian food: Gostilna Mihovec - 4 km (2 miles) and Gostilna Belšak/ Slavkov dom - 7 km (4 miles) away from the Swan House. Lake Zbilje is an artificial lake created in 1953 and apart from being a tourist attraction (boats hire; on the lake shore are several cafes and a children’s playground) is lake today an important habitat for numerous bird species. All region is good for cycling, hiking, picking the mushrooms in the season. At the Swan House you will enjoy relaxing on the terrace, doing yoga in the morning or simply enjoy being on the fresh air.
