Barnette in the country near the sea

Barnette is a 200 year old cow barn sleeping 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults. Several walls need finishing but do not interfer with the ambiance of this refurbished barn. Front doors opens into a well equipped kitchen/dining area. An open staircase leads to a small lounge with spectacular views; double sofa bed and sofa. Through the lounge there is a single bed divided by bookcases giving privacy to the main double bed and bathroom . The barn has a septic tank. Barnette sleeps 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults. Surrounded by beautiful Normandie countryside within easy reach of all Normandie ‘must sees’, including WW11 beaches and Museums. The Bayeux Tapestry and St Mont Michael, Granville hosting the Museum of Christian Dior with its lively restaurants and chic shops. All within 45 minutes drive. Plenty of fishing, golfing and quiet lanes to bike ride. Beautiful unspoilt beaches on either side of the Cherbourg Peninsula, Cotentin, are all within a short car ride. Local markets in most towns and villages, producing home grown products. Barnette has its own private drive with it's own vine clad patio to enjoy alfresco dining or sipping a glass or two of your favourite tipple. The gardens are also available to wander around. There is ample parking. The only traffic passing the door of Barnette is Lucy my horse, going in and out of her stable. We hope our guests will come and go as they please but if they have any questions or problems, we would expect them to contact us immediately. We are on site and are available to help with any queries. Village Mouffet is a small hamlet, surrounded by farmland which enjoys the peace and tranquility of the countryside but offers the beautiful cultural cities of Caen, Rouen, Renne and Paris all within easy reach. St. Mont Michel is about an hours drive with the boutique town of Granville around 45 minutes drive away. Markets are held weekly at various Towns and Villages in the surrounding area. The village of St Jean d’elle (2 km) has excellent wifi connection There is a small shop; butchers and bakers; a tabac; Pharmacy; Doctors and Dentist. Most shops close from 12 -2 and only open in the morning on a Sunday. Many small shops are closed on a Monday (Bakers). The local shop in St Jean d'elle is closed on a Wednesday afternoon). August is when a lot of French businesses are on holiday so please expect to find many shops closed. Whilst staying at Barnette we recommend the use of a car. If you are a bike enthusiast, Normandie has great riding facilities. Also, horse riding is one of this regions passions with loads of Equitation Centres to enjoy yourselves riding through the countryside and along the river Vire with experienced instructors. WIFI: we have wifi which we are happy to share with our guests. Unfortunately being in the countryside, we ourselves find it very slow (even with 4G), and sometimes have to walk around the house/garden to find a good reception. Since last year we have bought Wifi boosters but still find our signal can be intermittent. Barnette is a place to escape from the busy outside world. If you wish to use your computer all the time, then maybe Barnette is not for you. There are various places near to us that have very good internet connection. Saying this, we have had guests working via their computers without any problems. We are always looking to improve our wifi connection with extenders and would hope our guests will bear with us.
