Cozy country loft with the most amazing 360 view of the mountains. Your suite is approximately 400 sqft. Once inside, you will be transported to a simpler time full charm and tranquility without the distractions of the fast paced world. It's a perfect blend of the past with the modern luxuries of the present with hot water, your own bathroom, an authentic cast iron claw foot tub to enjoy, and your own Keurig for fresh brewed coffee after your comfortable night's sleep in the king size bed. Your morning view of the rolling hills and mountains will make you not miss the internet. Additionally, you will have a couch, TV, and DVD player There's also a small window unit if you get too hot. Although we hardly ever need any air conditioning because the weather is just delightful. Please note that there is no standing shower, but the bath tub has a hand held attachment. You will access the apartment through the garage. (My house is off the main road in the valley which is easily accessible unlike the twists and turns of the mountain.) A set of stairs will lead you to your private loft, which is completely detached from the main house. I will message you with detailed instructions as you approach the date of your stay. You can interact with me as little or as much as you want, or none at all. I love to cook and you're welcome to join. Shady Valley is a very small, unincorporated community. About 2700 ft elevation. The property sits next to a state preserved nature conservancy for the endangered bog turtle. You need your own transportation to get around. I have a large red bone female dog. She is the sweetest big baby and if you happen to be outside when she is, she loves to socialize - so don't be alarmed - she's harmless. Shady Valley is a rural community. There's one cafe that is not open late. If you are coming in late, I recommend that you eat and get anything you need -including alcohol and fuel - before crossing the mountains, from either Elizabethton, Bristol, Damascus or Mountain City. Otherwise, the main towns are just 20 minutes away. The Appalachian Trail, South Holston Lake, The Virginia Creeper Trail and The Bristol Motor Speedway are all about 20 miles away or closer. Just remember that you are in the mountains, and it gets really dark at night, and the roads are windy and steep.
