This spacious AC apartment, on the ground floor of a modern three story building, has been stylishly renovated into a high-end rental property. Tucked away behind popular Patnem beach, the one-bedroom apartment is a hidden gem overlooking peaceful paddy fields, but only a short walk from beach shacks, shops and restaurants. The apartment’s decor draws inspiration from India’s rich culture, with unique handicrafts, light fittings, antiques and artwork, but has also been designed with its guests’ comfort in mind. The large living room has two comfy sofas, one of which can be used as a small sofa bed, and a large table that doubles as a workspace or for enjoying a meal. The cozy bedroom has a queen size bed with a good mattress, linens and bedspread, and both rooms have air conditioning for the warmer months. However with three small balconies, large shuttered windows and high ceilings, the apartment has a bright airy feel. The bedroom balcony with cushioned wicker chairs is the perfect spot for morning coffee or a sunset beer, whilst watching birds and wildlife in the nearby Banyan Tree. A big kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge-freezer, stove and plenty of pots, pans and dishes. A welcome pack of drinking water, juice, milk, eggs, bread, butter, tea & coffee is also provided. The bathroom is simple but always sparkling clean and includes a hot water shower and plenty of towels. The apartment is TV-free, encouraging guests to switch off and enjoy the natural surroundings, but does offer complimentary fast WiFi internet. Private entrance and guest have access to the entire Ground floor apartment and outside balconies. I live 15 mins away from the property and I'm always available and happy to help guests when needed. The apartment is an hour-and-a-half drive from Goa airport, and only a short walk from popular Patnem and Palolem beaches, with their wide variety of restaurants, bars, shops and activities including yoga, massage and water sports. Many quieter golden sand beaches, with simple beach shacks serving the catch of the day, are also just a short drive away. Sightseeing and day trips can be arranged to nearby Cotigao Nature Reserve, the markets, spice farms and nightlife of north Goa, the historical Portuguese area of the capital Panjim, or the churches of old Goa. Taxis, and bicycle, scooter and car hire are also available on request. Taxi pick-up from the airport or train station also available to make your arrival easier (extra charges). *Note: this property is located in a village, with dogs, crows, chickens and cows, and children playing, where fishing, festivals and firecrackers are all part of daily life. However, the apartment / building is separated from other houses and is one of the most tranquil places to stay in the area. Electricity and Internet Outages Please note, although our properties are located in the beautiful natural environments of South Goa, they are also in remote small villages where the way of life is a slower pace than city life and our infrastructure is still developing. Electricity We do not have power backup, but we rarely get power outages longer than 20 mins at a time unless it’s scheduled maintenance. However, due to vast number of coconut trees in the area, it does happen that we get longer outages due to falling leaves on the wires or by the natural occurring events which are beyond our control. The local electricity dept. is usually quick at fixing any issue, but it also has a limited amount of staff since we live in a village. Internet The internet connection is reliable and the speed package is up to 100 mbps. Usually the speed is between 50 to 60 mbps and good enough for work. In case of any issues, our internet provider has support between 9 am to 8 pm from Monday to Sunday. However, the internet connection and lines in the area are connected to many power sources between our property, Chaudi (Canacona town) and onwards throughout Goa. If the electricity, sometimes the internet goes down as well. But we do have a battery backup for the modem in case of power outages. Backup Internet All of us who work full time in Goa have a Portable Hotspot, Dongle or use our Mobile Phone as backup internet. Vodafone / Idea and JIO have the best 3G and 4G signal in the area. However, since we live in a remote area, we sometimes have to move our Portable Hotspot, Dongle, or Mobile Phone around to a different direction to find the strongest signal and best connection. Also note, we often get the best mobile reception for Internet Data and Signal outside the houses. *Since your mobile phone can act as portable hotspot device, we do not supply backup internet. However, if you’re intending on working full time in one of our properties, we strongly suggest you bring your own portable hotspot device.
