The house is on a narrow, winding mountain road that leads to the mountain village of Negrana. LUCI means `lights` and refers to the dazzling lights of Lake Como, a magical and mesmerizing sight that is best enjoyed by candle light over a glass of red wine from the small, nicely furnished balcony. The fascinating views over the lake can be enjoyed further from the lovingly furnished, spacious apartment itself. The lake is about 3-4 minutes away by car. You are surrounded by Italian neighbours, a traditional and close knit community, where everybody knows one another. Enjoy the heady scent of local Mediterranean plants and flowers in this beautiful area. The friendly house owner is a keen gardener and has a large vegetable garden from which she gladly shares the harvest. The house owner`s daughter speaks English and is very happy to give advise about the countless local cultural attractions or the many leisure activities available in the area. She also brings fresh breads and croissants up to the house each morning. In the summer the apartment remains comfortably cool and in the autumn and winter, the fireplace, the thick stone walls and good heating system make the apartment is incredibly cozy. You really have the choice: do you prefer winter skiing in St. Moritz and Madesimo and being able to enjoy evening strolls along the lake or alternatively you can enjoy the long summers with loads of swimming, sun-bathing, sailing, hiking, culture and biking opportunities. There are so many beautiful places to visit around Lake Como but don`t forget trips to Lake Maggiore, Chiavenna, or take time to explore the surrounding valleys. This wonderful holiday home has been tastefully decorated with great attention given to detail. Precious antiques harmonize with warm wall colours, light and airy soft furnishings, all accented with impressive antique mirrors and fine art objects. High-quality wooden floors throughout the living and sleeping areas underscore the cosy ambiance. The large modern bathroom has tile flooring and extensive artistic mosaic tile work. Along with this, the bathroom has other original elements such as a relaxation chair and candles. It really is more of a wellness oasis, not simply a bathroom. - Leading up from the apartment driveway and garage is a staircase up to the main entrance. The apartment opens up into the large comfortable lounge area with a fireplace and SAT.-T.V. Off to one side is a well-equipped kitchenette which includes a dishwasher and attractive dining area. A small hallway leads across to the bedrooms, a double and a single bedroom, as well as leading to the large, modern bathroom. In addition to the beautiful antique single bed, there is another modern folding mattress bed available for a fourth person to use, if necessary. There is also a long narrow balcony and a small `reading` balcony. It`s about a 10 - 15 minute walk down to Gravedona where there is a good variety of shops, cafés and bars. Gravedona has a beautiful promenade and harbour with a public boat service, which connects you to almost all the most picturesque towns and villages along Lake Como. A garage is available for your car. After approx. 10-15 min. walking you'll find beaches and watersport possibilities.
