Flooding sunlight and rich greenery creates a perfect urban escape in this bustling part of the town. One block to Hope Street restaurants, library, gift shops, artisan bakery, and city bus. Visit farmer's market, explore historic home district, jog or bike on Blackstone Blvd. Moon-lit bedroom, cozy table for coffee, and comfy reading nook surrounded by tropical plants--a symphony of ambience. See also my DOWNTOWN listing by clicking on the picture below, next to "Hosted by Per". Superb location, lots of skylights! Comfortably sleeps two in a queen-sized bed and one more on full-sized sofa bed. While there is no kitchen (stove/ sink) per se, the space provides everything you need to relax: a wide selection of teas and various ways to make coffee (Keurig, French press, the traditional pour-over) will satisfy your inquisitive mind. Enjoy your morning coffee in your own botanic garden without stepping outside! Have a glass of wine in the moonshine under the skylight! Watch wisps of steam rising from your tea by the bay window and experience a moment of quiet at home. You have full access to our guest suite, which is on the third floor of our house. Like many historic houses in this area, to enter, you will need to pass through our living room and walk up another flight of stairs. Although there is NO SEPARATE ENTRANCE, we adhere to no-contact practice during this pandemic era. Note: There is no separate entrance. The guest suite is part of the entire unit. You do have the complete 3rd floor. IMPORTANT NOTE: due to COVID, only booked individuals are allowed on the property. Visitors, pickups/drop-offs, meetings or gatherings on any part of the property are prohibited at this moment. Entire 3rd floor. We live in the second-floor apartment. We are a phone call/text message away. Please share with us ahead of time plans you have to invite unregistered guests, and do not share the entry code unless you have shared those plans with us and we approve. We are located in Mount Hope, a residential neighborhood of larger, older homes just north of College Hill and convenient to everything in Providence. The neighborhood has an active business district with a variety of restaurants (Bakery, Italian, Asian, Indian, American, Breakfast), shops (toys, gifts, boutiques, antiques, cook's goods, photographer's goods, etc) and services (CVS, banks, salons, tavern, florist). It's quiet at night, yet you can find several side-walk restaurants in less than five minutes. Nearby College Hill features Brown University, RISD, art and cultural sights, historic homes, and well-known Thayer Street. Brown and RISD are 1.5 miles away. Many locals enjoy walking to the campuses and Thayer St. for dinner and events. Thayer Street is 1 mile down with more restaurants (from Thai to BBQ to Vegan and nearly everything in between), shops (gift shops, clothes and shoes, the Brown Bookstore, etc) and services (Post Office, CVS, FedEx, salons, banks, movie theater, etc). Downtown is 1.5 miles West, with the train station, State house, shopping, more restaurants, Waterplace Park, Providence Place, "the Superman Building", ice skating, etc. Wayland Square and Blackstone Park are both 1.5 miles East. Wickenden/Fox Point is 1.5 miles South. Pawtucket is 1.5 miles North. The RI Convention Center, Providence Performing Arts Center, Trinity Repertory Theatre and Johnson & Wales University are each 2 miles to the West. Providence College is 2.5 miles. Rhode Island College is 4 miles. Bryant University is 10 miles. NEIT is 17 miles. Roger Williams University is 21 miles. URI (main campus) is 30 miles. The Providence Ferry at India Point is on the East Side and takes you to Newport (seasonal). It's easy to travel around Providence from our home whether by foot, car, bike, public transport, or Lyft/Uber. It's fun and simple to get to Boston via train. There are seasonal ferry services to Newport and Cape Cod. Feel free to message me with any questions about the city. I am happy to help you select the best location for your specific needs, whether that ends up being in this neighborhood or not. The Amtrak/MBTA station is 1.5 miles away, making it easy to take a day-trip to Boston. We often go in for just the evening for dinner or a show. The Providence Ferry Station at India Point is an easy 6-8 minutes drive from here, has complimentary parking and will get you to Newport without the driving and parking fees (seasonal). Lyft and Uber are plentiful and are a fast and easy way to get around. There are also the electric scooters scattered around the neighborhood. You use an app to rent and ride. Bus stop is a block and a half away. Please REFRAIN from sleeping on the couch directly for the sake of hygiene. If you need an extra bed, register for 3 guests (an extra charge of $30/night), EVEN if you are a party of two. We will provide bedding for the fold-down futon bed in the open area. We ask that you introduce us to and provide full names beforehand for everyone who will stay with or visit you during your stay. If there are changes to that while you are here, please give us the courtesy of a request and the opportunity to respond. If you leave something small behind, we are glad to mail that to you upon request for $25 - 30, depending on the weight.
