A private piece of paradise 5 minutes from Nimbin village. The spacious guesthouse overlooks a dam with views of the Nimbin Rocks. It has 2 king-single beds, a single bed in a separate room, kitchenette, large bathroom, laundry basin, wardrobe, sofa, dining table, tv & dvds (there's no reception). Perfect for traveling friends, but we can't accommodate pets (due to allergies and to protect our wildlife). Nightly rate is for 2 guests, extra guest is $50, the cleaning fee is $25. Enjoy your stay! Large windows provide a magnificent view of the Nimbin Rocks. You can enjoy the wildlife from the verandah while sipping on your cup of tea (enjoy the birds, but please don't feed them--they have plenty to eat). Enjoy the refreshing summer rains under a covered patio. The kitchenette comprises a cooktop, microwave, small fridge, tableware and cookware, and plenty of drawers to store your supplies, a dining table with chairs. The studio area has two comfortable king single beds that can be pushed together, a sofa, chest of drawers television with built-in DVD player and a collection of DVDs (there is no tv reception). A small bedroom with a single bed is located opposite the spacious bathroom. Luggage can be stowed in a walk-in robe with hangers. The house is fully insulated, windows on all sides provide cooling cross-breezes, there are fans and heaters. The guest-house is supplied by inline filtered rainwater (short showers please) and solar power. The guesthouse is easily accessed from the road. Parking is outside the gate in front of the building. Guests have access to the immediate area surrounding the building, including a short walk along the dam wall. The main house is 20 metres away, so we are available to provide assistance throughout your stay. We are a small rural property (17 ha) typical to the region, with young dairy cows and a bull grazing on the pasture. Wildlife is abundant. We have identified around 90 bird species on the property, including yellow-tailed black cockatoos. There are several species of frogs, dragon flies, and butterflies. The dam behind the cottage is home to saw-shell turtles, eels, water dragons and other reptiles. Mammals include platypus, bandicoots and red-necked wallabies, flying foxes and micro bats. Foxes and dingoes can be heard at night during their breeding season. We are in the heart of the 'Rainbow Region', surrounded by rainforests that are part of the World Heritage listed national parks, including Border Ranges, Wollumbin (Mt Warning), Nightcap and others--all a day trip away. It takes 5 minutes to drive into Nimbin village with its excellent cafes and restaurants, farmers market, galleries and entertainment, tourist information, a supermarket, post office, hospital, and more. There are bus services to Lismore and Byron Bay, and Lismore has a regional airport. But most visitors drive: Lismore is 35 minutes, and Byron Bay and the Gold Coast are about 90 minutes away. Our Internet and telecommunication services rely on a satellite connection with metered data. We therefore can not presently offer Wifi access. Mobile services are patchy but we can advise you on ways to improve your signal, and some Nimbin's cafes offer wifi access. Some of our guests have pet allergies and we are a wildlife habitat, so please arrange alternative accommodation for your pets.
