The local town of Lannemezan has a children’s activity park and a Go Ape N’co Park. Prehistoric Caves at Gargas, Esparros and Betharram. Chateau de Mauvezin, Escaladieu and Valmirande nearby. Birds of Prey display at Donjon des Aigles and Parc Animalier at Argeles Gazost. The Petit Train d’Artouste south of Pau at Fabreges is worth a visit, being the highest train in Europe and taking you into the depths of the Pyrenees with a short walk if you wish to visit the high remote Lac d’ Artouste. The famous Cathedral of the Pyrenees of St Bertrand de Comminges south of Montrejeau. The Pic du Midi reached by cable car and the wonderful spa at Balnea with amongst other features, a 40 degree outdoor bathing pool.
