NW Chicago Apartment in Safe Neighborhood
We have a lower level apartment available located on the northwest side of Chicago. Our neighborhood is mostly Chicago style brick bungalows with plenty of free street parking available. We have easy access to public transportation, including a night owl bus (runs 24 hours) only 3 blocks away. We welcome guests from every culture and background. The entrance to the apartment is on the side towards the back of the house. Once guests enter the house, the apartment will be straight ahead. The space has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, a bathroom with a shower, and an open kitchen/ living area layout. The living area has a sofa bed that can convert into another queen size bed if needed. As this is a basement apartment, we realize it can get a little cool. There is a radiating type wall space heater in each of the bedrooms and a stand alone space heater in the living area to help keep the space comfortable. There is no A/C specifically for the space, however the house has central air. We keep the house at 78 or 79 deg F in the Summer. The basement is usually a bit cooler. There are vents in the ceiling that can be opened or closed to help regulate the temperature. Note that we live upstairs. Chicago Registration #: R19000 (Website hidden by Airbnb) 039955 For the most part, our interaction with guests will depend on the preference of our guests. We can be as accessible as you'd like, or leave you alone to do your own thing. We do some travel, so there may be times when we are not around, however we will always be available via text or phone to answer questions. We live on the south end of the Chicago neighborhood of Portage Park. It's a relatively quiet neighborhood. We do have a hospital located less than a half mile away, so you may hear an ambulance siren every now and then. There is a grocery store within walking distance and a couple of good neighborhood restaurants that are worth trying. We have a small neighborhood park a block away with some open space and a playground if you have children. We are away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, however only a bus and train ride away (if you choose to take public transit). Our neighborhood has lots of free street parking if you are driving. We also have good public transportation nearby. We have a night owl bus that will take you directly to the blue line subway, which also runs 24 hours. If you are flying and choose not to rent a car, you can get to our place using the public transportation. We are closer to O'Hare, where you will just need to hop on the blue line and a bus. Getting to our place from Midway is a little more complicated, however still doable using public transport. We also have other options such as taxis, Uber and Lyft readily available in the area. We are in a quiet neighborhood northwest of the city center. It's about an hour to the loop if you take public transit (there are a few bus stops within a 5 minute walk). If you drive or take an Uber, Lyft or taxi it's about a half hour to the loop. Note that we have outside surveillance cameras on the premises.
