The Pepperberry Inn

Known as the John A. Kramer 1902 Historic Home, located in the Main St Historic District; we are a Bed & Breakfast. A short walk to the Harbor waterfront, downtown dining, shopping & exploring. Our front porch awaits with rockers & swings for morning & afternoon resting. 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor with a shared bathroom down the hall. (See separate listing "The Pepperberry Inn II"). One hour south of Norfolk VA and one hour west of the Outer Banks, an easy quick drive to more places to explore. Our home has many antiques and we'll be glad to tell you about them if you desire to know. We live here full time and come and go throughout the day. Please be respectful of your surroundings and the items within that area as well as to other guests. For our Guests, Our Chef creates on-site made morning baked goods using locally grown fruits, organic eggs, and real butter; and of course coffee & tea are included. This is available between 7:30 am to 9:00 am. We understand the potential of restricted diets & will try to accommodate these but only with ADVANCE notice so please send us a message before arrival. Call/Message BEFORE coming through the front gate when you first arrive. Please notice the sign at the front gate. The interaction with our dogs will be more enjoyable; Thereafter you will use the back door and gate to come and go. We will be happy to interact with you as much as you desire. The 2 dogs will always look for a head pat or ear rub. If you have questions about anything, please ask us. We have in the 2nd floor Foyer information available for you: Maps, brochures, guide books.
