Built in 1880, our home is a rambling, quirky Victorian nestled in the heart of downtown Old Fort. The inn is a perfect beginning and ending to your day's adventures in western NC! You’ll love our large, inviting Smoky Mountain Suite with its comfy queen bed and amazing full bath-- the perfect room if you are looking for a relaxing get away. The suite is newly renovated and features an amazing bath and uniquely designed queen bed. It is the only bedroom in the Inn located on the 1st floor. Beautiful artwork by Chuck, antique furnishings, large windows, and interesting architectural features highlighting the house's history make this room a truly relaxing place to unwind and enjoy your time away from home. You will have access to our relaxing front porch, 3 acres of gardens and other outdoor spaces, and an amazing 6 person hot tub with incredible views of the night sky. (Please note: Hot Tub is closed during May, June, July and August) You can also enjoy our TV/ Dining area that has a small fridge, microwave and TV with cable. A fresh, home cooked deluxe continental breakfast will await you each morning, at no additional cost. We will greet you on arrival and will be available should you need assistance. We also love serving breakfast and assisting you in planning your days' adventures in western NC. Old Fort is a very small town with a vibrant history. Unfortunately, our town has only a few restaurants and stores. We are happy to announce that as of July 2020, Old Fort is home to Hillman Brewing. You can walk to this amazing brewery and restaurant with outdoor seating on the banks of Mill Creek. The Inn sits directly across from the historic Old Fort Depot and is within walking distance of the Mountain Gateway Museum and Arrowhead Gallery and Studios. For guests who are seeking outdoor adventures, visits to Andrews Geyser, Catawba Falls, Curtis Creek and Point Lookout are great points of interest. There is no public transit in town; however, the house is located one and a half miles off Interstate 40 and directly on Hwy 70. We are located directly across from the railroad tracks and a train crossing. The town fire station is less than a mile away. Train whistles and sirens may be distracting and surprising. We do offer ear plugs to help light sleepers. Our drive is steep and graveled. Our Honda Accord makes the climb easily.
