Cosy cottage to get away from it all.
This is an open plan cottage with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. It will easily sleep 4 but 6 if using the sofa bed. This is an over-dwelling with it’s own front door on the second floor of a three story 1800 century cottage. The views are spectacular as they look over the valley and river Greta. The cottage is ideal for couples, walkers or families. There is a large park with a grass football pitch, Astro turfed tennis court, bowling green, children’s playground and a range of adult outdoor fitness equipment. There is a recently planted orchard with picnic tables by the river for the community to use. Guests will access the cottage by the key in the key box. I am available for questions by email or phone. Burton in Lonsdale is a lovely little village in the Yorkshire Dales. In the village there is a good pub that serves food and a village shop that is run and owned by the locals. The village is situated in an ideal place for visiting the three peaks and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the north west seaside towns of Heysham and Morcambe and the Lake District. If driving it is: 8 mins away from Ingleton, which has the waterfalls walk and the summer lido. 10/15 mins away from the market town of Kirby Lonsdale, which has a fabulously stocked Booths supermarket. It takes around 30 mins to get to the coast of Heysham/Morcambe and 30 mins to get to Windermere and Lancaster. The best place to park is on Burton Hill, just after the 20 mile an hour sign. Access to the cottage is up the steps, along the garden path and then up the stone steps to the front door on the second floor. Please note there is not a TV at the cottage. We purposefully don’t have one so we can do other things and ‘get away from it all’. We make time to go walking, read, eat, cook, bake, play games, go to the river, thing you don’t always have time to do in busy lives! However, we do have wifi if this is not enough for you.
