Cute Cottage by Yeo Valley & Blagdon Lake

Stay in our beautiful cottage for a rural retreat right next to Yeo Valley HQ. Views over Blagdon lake & 2 pubs to choose from. Local shop & cafe at the bottom of the hill. Plenty of walks around the countryside or by the lake. Bristol Airport is 15 mins & Wells is 20 mins by car. Walk up the hill & visit Yeo Valley Canteen for yummy grub & more views (open weekdays) or walk down the hill to the Seymour Arms Pub. We have a cat who loves to eat dry food. Can arrange for feeding unless keen The original part of the cottage was built in 1860 and is now decorated in seaside, cottage style decor. We are very house proud and welcoming hosts. You have you own room, bathroom and lounge with a very large TV with Netflix and all the mod cons. The walled garden and rooftop are lovely to sit in the evenings sun and if it's chilly we usually light the log burner. You can park for free in the 'Rhodyate Residence' car park which is situated just up the hill from the cottage. Alternatively you can also park on the road. Its a village so all the parking is free. You have access to the whole house, including kitchen, conservatory dining room, and two living rooms with large TVs. Bedroom one has its own en suite and the second bedroom has the family bathroom situated right next to it. There is also a downstairs utility room with washing machine, dryer and toilet. There is a walled garden at the front and back of cottage with outdoor dining table and BBQ. We're very happy to recommend local places and be in touch if you had questions. Very friendly village with two local pubs, all with lovely food. The Seymour is a at the bottom of the hill and has a gastro pub vibe, and The New Inn Pub does pub grub and has amazing views from the beer garden. Yeo Valley HQ is right next door and they open the gardens by the lake in the summer months (weds and Fridays - check the Yeo Valley website). Coombe Lodge is within walking distance in the village, and Aldwick Estate Winery is just across the otherside of the lake. The Ring of Bells, The Langford and The Pelican (all Butcombe run pubs) are just down the road and you can get amazing fish and chips by Chew Valley Lake at Salt & Malt in Chew Stoke. You can walk along Blagdon Lake and stop for a picnic. There is a post office, shop and cafe in the village which are all within walking distance. You can visit the famous Hunters Lodge, go horse riding, visit Wells Cathedral. Eccentric Glastonbury is 30 mins away, Cheddar Gorge is 20 mins, and Burrington Coombe is just over the hill and has lovely walks over the highest points in the Mendips. Bristol Airport is 15 minutes away by car/ taxi. We'd recommend Arrow Cars as they take you to the door. You will probably want a car but there is a bus that goes from outside the Seymour Arms in the centre of Bristol. You can also bring your bike as we are on a very popular cycle route. We have a cat who comes in and out via the cat flap. She eats dry food but we arrange for her to be fed, unless you are keen. Parking - There is one space in the drive or you can park in the 'Residence of Rhodyate' car park or along the road for free. Please don't park in front of the cottage on the road because the neighbours need full access to their gate.
