Spacious 2 Bed Gite with Pool in Beautiful Garden

Light and spacious gite set in a beautiful garden of 0.6 hectares full of mature trees with river frontage and above ground pool. The gite is newly renovated and offers a stylish and comfortable stay. We are located in a small charming village an hour from the beautiful city of Cognac, family friendly Futuroscope and the smart beach resorts of La Rochelle. We will be on hand throughout your stay should you need any advice or assistance. We are biker friendly and have a covered area for bikes. Welcome to the giteauvert. As we only have one gite on the premises you will have exclusive access to the pool which is surrounded by fruit trees including peach, fig, apple and mirabelle which you are more than welcome to pick. The garden is particularly beautiful with plenty of space for children to play and a pool to cool down in or the ideal space for couples to kick back and relax. We have some outside games including molkky and boules as well as inflatables for the pool and a pirate ship paddling pool for very little ones. The gite is spacious with a separate dining room and sitting room so ideal for families; adults can have their own space while the children play next door. If you are a fan of board games we have a wide selection for guests to borrow or if you just feel like a night in with a DVD after a strenuous day relaxing then we have lots to choose from. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking with a gas hob and stove as well as a microwave and there is a barbeque right outside the gite. You can catch the last of the day's sunshine relaxing under a vine in the private gravelled courtyard. We have a number of bicycles available for use (helmets not provided). We are biker friendly and have space to store two motorbikes under cover. We look forward to welcoming you at the giteauvert. While you are here you will have exclusive access to the pool. We live in the house next to the giteauvert and will be available throughout your stay should you need any assistance such as booking restaurant tables etc. We can also offer you a continental breakfast or a vegetarian meal if you are arriving late or just don't want to cook! Please ask for details. The gite au vert is in the village of Le Vert in the heart of rural France, surrounded by fields of wheat and sunflowers with plenty of paths for walking your dog and riding your bike (we have 4 bikes available for your use at no extra charge). We are about 5 minutes drive from the nearest bar and 15 from the nearest restaurants and large supermarket. There is a wide range of activities all within 1 hour of the gite and we would be happy to suggest ideas for days out to suit all interests and tastes. If you plan on travelling around then a car is essential is public transport is limited.Alternatively you can spend the day relaxing by the pool in our beautiful garden. There is a small family campsite adjacent where you can hire canoes to use on the river. You will need a car if you would like to explore the area. If you are planning to arrive by train we can arrange to pick you up for a small charge. There is a station 15 minutes from the gite with direct trains to various destinations including the coast at La Rochelle, Bordeaux and Paris. The garden opens out onto the river. Please could you bring sunscreen that is free from avobenzone. The chemicals in normal sunscreen react with the chemicals in the pool and will very quickly form a film over the surface of the water and can cause staining. We are in an area of hard water and any sunscreen that contains avobenzone and transfers to the bedding or the towels reacts with the lime in the water to cause orange staining which, as we have discovered to our cost, is impossible to remove. Please be aware the garden opens on to the river. There are cats and dogs on the premises. If your dog is not safe around cats then it must be kept on a lead. We have a large enclosed area we use to exercise our dogs which you are welcome to use by arrangement.
