Peace,quiet and privacy will make for an idyllic getaway for couples,family and friends. Situated in West Gippsland...The Miners Cottage was in its original form part of the Darnum Musical Village. This is the perfect space for couples looking for a romantic getaway,or friends and family to meet and enjoy time together. There is a split system to keep you warm in Winter and cool in Summer. There will be an abundant supply of wood for the fireplace. Soak and enjoy the claw foot bath with maybe a wine and a good book.? A new gas barbecue is on the back verandah... cook, eat and soak up the beautiful views. The kitchen has everything you need... all cooking utensils, dishes ect, coffee machine plus Tea,Coffee,Milk, Sugar and basic pantry provisions /items. There is a large TV, DVD player,DVD’s, books, board games, electric blankets, wardrobes….everything to make your stay enjoyable. The Cottage is charming,comfortable,private and very relaxing. PLEASE NOTE *** The nightly charge is for one bed/ bedroom. ... whether it be for 1 person or 2. If there are 2 guests that require 2 bedrooms then you must book for 3 !! There is a charge of $ 45 per night per person for the additional bedroom... to cover the linen ect . I am available and contactable at all times and can answer any questions that you may have. I will be happy to assist you with ideas and information on places to visit,dining out etc. I will be available by text/ phone or personally at any time during your stay if you require. Darnum is a small country farming town set in the rolling hills of West Gippsland...Less than an hours drive to : Mount Baw Baw for the snow (Tobogganing,snow boarding,cross country and down hill skiing) a great place to visit all year round. Inverloch for the beach. Walhalla has an Historic Tourist Village,well worth a drive. Mirboo North is a great place to visit,15 mins drive from the Village Retreat and there is a Boutique Brewery where you can sample and purchase their beers. Mount Worth National Park is 15 minutes away also and is very picturesque,a wonderful place for a bush walk or to explore / relax. Lardner Park is 12 mins away and is Gippsland's premier Exhibition venue with events there most weekends. The Darnum Hotel is walking distance...1 km away...very nice food,a great ambience and very close ... however it has not reopened since it was closed down during the pandemic. Darnum also has a General Store/Tearooms Cafe which has nice coffee and a great place for breakfast in front of the fire. A Post Office/ Petrol Station all just 1 km away!!Warragul is 5 mins away and has many top quality Restaurants and Wineries...a variety of places to shop...everything you require..and a Hospital and great Golf Course. Yarragon is 5 mins away in the other direction and has tourist specialty shops and many cafes. Darnum has a bus service which runs into Warragul ( which is 5 mins away ) and from Warragul there is a VLine train service. Darnum is the centre of the West Gippsland cycling ( Professional and pleasure). If you wish to bring your bikes there are some nice bikes rides to enjoy ...or we can provide a bike & helmet etc for a fee. CLEANING. The Cottage will be thoroughly cleaned between stays using highly effective and stringent methods recommended by AIRBNB and the Australian Health Department. Because of this I am no longer offering same day check -ins. If it is mid week then contact me and we can work something out. The Retreat Cottages and Church are completely separated and very private with their own areas.
