The Loft - Window on the Severn

Newly built in 2019, The Loft is a beautiful self-contained apartment in the Forest of Dean, with breath-taking views over the River Severn. The Loft is the smaller of two spaces on site and is best suited to couples. For larger bookings, please also consider The Roost. The Loft is located on the first floor of our garage, separate from the main house. It is a self-contained apartment with private entrance (stairs to first floor). This brand new holiday let offers: Wonderful views King size bed En-suite bathroom Scandinavian wood burner Fully equipped kitchenette Guests receive a welcome pack of fresh, homemade bread and eggs from our free-range chickens. We live on a two-acre plot: half-garden (with chickens, friendly dog and cats!), half orchard and wildflower meadow on a gentle hill. We have swings and a slide, and the whole site is enclosed and far from any traffic. At the top of the hill we have a fire-pit and seating area, looking across the wonderful Gloucestershire countryside and the Severn river. Beyond this is a gate which leads you straight into the Forest of Dean. We are happy for guests to enjoy all these spaces. Guests are welcome in our garden. We live in the main house and are available should you need anything. We live at the top of a hill in a rural area. It’s beautiful and very quiet. There are lovely walks that begin straight from our property. Other activities in the area (a short car journey away) include: Biking Diving Golf Climbing Places to visit: Offa's Dyke Path Chepstow Castle National Diving Centre Clearwell Caves Puzzlewood Perrygrove Railway Chepstow Racecourse Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail Bristol and Cardiff are both 40 minutes' drive. Our nearest town is Chepstow (3 miles away). You can reach us by car or taxi (keen hikers could walk!) Our nearest town is 3 miles away, with a TESCO and Marks & Spencer. We provide a loaf of bread, eggs, milk, coffee and tea on arrival, but ask guests to bring anything else they need with them. We have a lovely new Scandinavian wood-burner in the space, but there is no fireguard provided. One basket of wood for the burner is provided, and more is available to buy. This apartment is best suited to a couple, but we also have on site another family-friendly flat, The Roost. We are happy for guests to reserve both spaces for larger bookings.
