Stay in this great 1 BR modern amenities apt. in the Heart of Old Towne Petersburg. An authentic Civil War survivor. Featured in Steven Spielberg's movie Lincoln. It was use in the current AMC series Turn along with other movies and documentaries. Stay in the Heart of Old Towne in a real Civil War survivor. It was shelled in1865, possibly the only original store front in Old Towne. This apartment was servants quarter for the Friend House currently housing Wabi Sabi and Brickhouse Run restaurant. Don't miss the opportunity to stay in one of the most historic places in the country. It has all the modern day amenities with the charm and allure of the history all around it. It consists of a Kitchen, Bedroom with a Queen size bed, a full Bath with a large claw foot tub and the Living Room with a 55" TV, Cable, Blu-ray/DVD player (we provide a selection of different movies) and wifi. Oh and the couch is a pull out bed. You can watch all the Old Towne events right from your window. enjoy Privately owned restaurants along with Antiques, Art galleries and Spas. If you are lucky to be here on the right weekend you may be able to bring home a great deal from Petersburg Pickers open every other weekend. For tourist attractions you can visit the National Battlefield, Pamplin Park second only to Williamsburg when it comes to Virginia tourist attractions. Several museums right here in Old Town Petersburg. Just a few steps up the cobble stone alley to the Petersburg Visitor Center. I'll list some of the restaurants within walking distance of apartment. Alexander's, Alibi's, Andrades (south American). Blue Willow Tea Room, Brickhouse Run (English Pub next door), Demolition Coffee, Dixie Restaurant, The Croaker Spot (The Soul of Seafood just a few steps down the cobblestone alley) Longstreets, Maria's Italian Restaurant, Saucy's BBQ, The Bistro at Market and Grove, wabi sabi Restaurant (sushi/Martini Bar and more) and 16 West. Richmond is only 20 some miles north up Interstate 95. We are around town a lot, so its all depending on the Guests desires and our availability. The people are warm, friendly and welcoming. As one of our residents put it " Petersburg a Drinking Town with a History Problem". You can walk to most places. Many things to do: Ghost Tours during certain times of the year (Is this building on it?), Kayak tours and rentals, Walking distance to see wonderful original old buildings (not replicas like other historic locations). Museums, Art galleries and Antique Shops.
