Waterfront 1930s Bayou Teche Cajun Creole Cottage

Waterfront Cottage overlooking the Bayou Teche, only 50 feet away. Restored updated c. 1935 cottage in culturally rich Arnaudville LA. Original art, high ceilings, full kitchen. This isn't a slapped together restoration. An embracing non-toxic space using old growth salvaged wood, homemade milk paint, and Tung oil finishes. Two more cottages from same host (click on profile image). Note: yard is a pollinator garden, (mostly) native plants. It's not manicured, scorched earth landscaping. Guests have the backyard for themselves. There are other cottages very close and the properties are not separated by fences. There are BBQ grills, croquet set, kayaks available (use at your own risk). Tony is frequently on-site. If other cottages are vacant tours may be available, including explanations of cottage histories, materials used, techniques, and garden plant identification. Quiet neighborhood. Walkable and bikeable town. Cottage is less than 100 yards from Russells, a full service grocery store. Little Big Cup is an award winning fine dining restaurant located next to the grocery store. NuNus Cultural Collective is around the corner. NuNus has local artist exhibiting and offers a monthly French language table and a free monthly potluck supper. La31/Teche Brewery is about 1 mile away and offers free live music and a friendly music trivia competition. Two Roman Catholic churches are within walking distance. Arnaudville is a walkable, bike-able town. There is plenty of free parking. Please inquire about small children because of proximity to the bayou. We are pet lovers and travel with ours.
