Cozy, Private Suite Behind a White Picket Fence
Downstairs suite in renovated bungalow with private entrance, off-street parking, a sitting area, flat screen TV, online streaming service (ROKU), Free WiFi Access, Coffee/Tea station, mini fridge, full bathroom with bidet, douche, and towel warmer - space has central air and heat, but radiant heat also available. Rear deck, firepit, and grill available upon request. The space is ideal for folks who drove to DC, would like to avoid paying for hotel parking, are looking for a place to sleep, wake up and have coffee, tea, and breakfast if arranged in advance, and stow their gear while out seeing the city or off to meetings. The space is quiet, has its own private entrance, and access to laundry, as long as the guest is considerate of the house (don't do excessive loads, don't dump others clothes on the floor if the machines are occupied) The house, for those who do not drive, is less than half a block from 15 bus routes that will take you to any one of 4 train stations within 2 miles of the house, or if you are not DC-centric on your trip, will take you to Hyattsville, Riverdale, and College Park, Maryland within minutes. The guests may use the back deck and backyard area after checking in with the host, and making sure the area is left as it was found, tidy, free of refuse, and without the furniture moved all over the yard. I work from home and am upstairs, with occasional meetings offsite. Out of an abundance of caution during the pandemic, I will not enter the rental space at all during your stay. Its a quiet neighborhood in an arts zone less than 4 blocks from DC, a block from lots of gallery spaces and studios, not far from Mount Rainier, and the National Arboretum, less than 5 miles from downtown DC's National Mall, and less than 5 miles from Nationals Stadium and 7 miles from the National Harbor Area. Not far from downtown Hyattsville, Riverdale, and College Park (all within 5-15 minutes by car or bus) There are 15 bus lines that run on Rhode Island avenue that will get you to a Metro station (one of three) in roughly 10 minutes, lots of ride share services in the neighborhood, and a Bikeshare station on the other side of the block at 3807 Apartments. There are cycling paths to Lake Artemesia and the Riverdale area. The bedroom has an air conditioner with remote in the room that is separate from the rest of the house. The room is right next door to the house HVAC unit, which does tend to rattle and hum a bit, so if you are sensitive to noises, earplugs while sleeping may be of use. In the winter months, the room has its own radiant heater, also separate from the house, and the bath has a ceramic towel warmer next to the tub which will keep the bath nice and toasty. A small HEPA air filter is in your room for your use. Please turn it off when you leave the site. Thank you.
