1 rue des Lavandieres is in the village of Cubieres sur Cinoble, nestling between the Gorge du Galamusand the famous Pic du Bugarach. The house is a traditional stone house, which occupies a peacefullocationon the edge of the village. The accommadation sleeps 6 people with a kitchen/dining area leading to a sitting room. Corridor leading to 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room(downstairs). Entrance hall & stone staircase utility room & downstairs toilet. Upstairs 1 double & 1 twin bedroom. There is a stream running through the garden with patio & BBQ. Plus hammock & loungers to enjoy views towards pic du Bugarach. A 20 minute drive down through the gorge du galamus takes you to St Paul du Fenouillet, a small town providing all facilities. At the end of the Rue is La Fresco, cafe/ restaurant. Conveniently situated between the Mediterrean & the Pyrenees, the village is 1 hour from Perpignan, a catalan sronghold & 40 minutes from Rennes le Chateau. The famous Cathar castles are close by- Peyrepertuse a 30 minute drive & Queribus 40 minutes away. The area is famous for its wines, cuisine & as an area of outstanding beauty. Jim & I live in the accommadation at the end of the house (self contained), but available to help if needed. At the end of the Rue is La Fresca a cafe/restaurant. The gorge du galamus is a 20 minute walk with the river Agly flowing through & wonderful pools for swimming. Also organised canyoning. The area is full of local & national footpaths , the Cathar way & GR36 plus many others. Wild flowers abound & the garrique plants are incredible. It is necessary to have a car here, but the E1 bus goes from St Paul du Fenouillet to Perpignan & Quillan. Perpignan airport is 1 hour drive , Carcassonne is 1.5 hours, Beziers & Girona 2 hour drive away.
