Eve’s Cottage
Tucked into a leafy corner, Eve’s Cottage is a peaceful getaway in the heart of Horwich. It has been recently refurbished in a bright and modern style to help you relax at this home away from home. This original trader's store has been carefully restored and still displays the owner's inscriptions on the outside walls. The quirky windows offer glimpses of the church that this store was created for. The cobbled streets are narrow and remind you of the horses and carts that once passed through carrying the builders materials from store to steeple. We look forward to sharing a little piece of history with you. The entire cottage is yours. Parking Due to the historic nature of the area in which Eve' s cottage is situated, the roads aren't as generous in size; therefore access, although possible, is not recommended for large vehicles including SUVs. We do recommend to park on the main road (Chapel St or Chorley Old Road) and take the short walk to the cottage. If when you arrive on foot, you feel confident about parking in front of the cottage, you may choose to do so. You will need to allow access for the neighbouring cottages. We are available via text and will share a number with booked guests. We live nearby and can offer any advice or assistance required. If not, let yourselves in using the secure key box and we will leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet. This is a quiet neighbourhood and many residents can testify to the rich history of this small town. We ask that you respect our neighbours by arriving and leaving quietly and parking curteously. Rail: Blackrod and Horwich Parkway stations are a 30mins walk. Car: Easily accessed from the M61. Bike: Beautiful scenery to cycle around : Horwich hosts many sporting events each year including the Iron Man. Walk: You can walk to Angelzarke and Rivington Resevoirs and it is a short drive to plenty of nearby country walks. There are blackout blinds in the bedroom to help you with your well- earned lie-in and plenty of sockets to charge your devices. The blinds are velcro: use the tabs to pull them open. There are electric heaters which are on timers- please leave in A -automatic. The electric fire in the living room can be used if needed- the switches are in the drop down section inside the door. There is also a plug in heater in the wardrobe if needed. Be warned: it's powerful so don't leave it on unattended.
