Located right on the shores of Warner Bay just off Lake Huron and situated near the scenic village of Tobermory, Fathom Five National Marine Park, Cyprus Lake Provincial Park and the Bruce Trail, you will have lots to see and explore. At the end of your day, enjoy spectacular sunsets on the patio, deck, dock or from the lakeside sun room. Our 2000 sq-ft bungalow style cottage is the perfect setup for two families having two bedrooms and a full bathroom at either end with a central kitchen, living room and sun room. This central space has a cathedral ceiling, LCD television, satellite receiver, DVD, VCR, and stereo with CD player. Also in this area is the dining area with table and chairs capable of sitting eight. The large kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of counter and cupboard space and includes, an all-fridge, chest freezer, stove and microwave oven. Our guests often comment on one of our favorite features which is the lakeside sun room. The cottage has a flagstone walkway to permit easy access to the lake and decks. Entry to the water is shallow. As this is a good area for swimming, swim shoes are recommended due to the rocky bottom. Water entry or exit is also possible from a ladder off the dock. Also accessible and included are a paddle-boat, kayaks and a paddle board. Personal flotation devices, emergency kits and paddles are located inside the cottage. Lake side Muskoka chairs and loungers are available as well as additional beach chairs in the cottage. At present, please note that shoreline camp fires are possible now due to a significant drop in lake water levels. Due to the septic system, there is a LIMIT of 6 ADULTS and 2 CHILDREN for a total of 8 GUESTS. All areas are accessible except a small garage, 3rd bathroom and one set of wall-wall cupboards. Accessibility to us is just a cellphone call or text away. What is special about this location it is located on a dead end road with minimal traffic. What is also special about this area is the region's Dark Skies policy being in effect lending this to being one of the best areas for stargazing. For your sweet tooth, a bakery with delicious treats is located right at hwy 6 and Warner Bay Road. Walk or bike in the opposite direction down Eagle Road and you will find provincial territory with a trail. Travel further and take another trail 2km inland to William Henry Marsh. Take Eagle Road to the very end (~7Km from Warner Bay Rd) and find small rock outcrop and some more water. There are several various sized bicycles for getting around and exploring the area. An automobile is a necessary means of transportation for getting to all other areas of interest. Unlike hotels and commercial properties, when renting a private cottage it is like renting a personal home. With this in mind, it is the expectation of the owners that guests respect and care for the property as if it was their own and leave the it as clean as it was found upon arrival. If you do not wish to clean, an additional cleaning fee can be applied to the rental. Therefore it is a condition of the rental agreement that the premises are left clean and tidy. The house rules to follow will detail the expectations. Cleaning equipment and supplies have been provided to make your task as easy as possible. This is a Saturday to Saturday weekly rental schedule with a check-in time noted on the site as 5PM. However, depending upon how previous guests leave the property, it could be available sooner and we will let you know through the Airbnb message board if an earlier check-in is possible on the day of your arrival. If you do not hear from us, then assume 5PM as the check-in time. ***NEW*** In September 2021, our local municipality through adoption of a By-law for Short Term Accommodations imposed an annual licensing fee for owners and a MAT tax or Municipal Accommodation Tax on tourists. We call it a tourist tax. We, as owners are eating the License fee but apologize for the 4% added booking tax. This Tax will be collected by AirBnB and passed through us to the municipality. It seems that more and more municipalities are doing this including Toronto and Niagara which has done this for years. On the other hand, the Ontario Government announced the Ontario Staycation tax Credit where "Ontario residents can claim 20% of their eligible 2022 accommodation expenses", for the calendar year 2022.
