'The Corn Mill Loft' is nestled in the heart of beautiful Whalley, a listed building oozing with character; a mix of original features & a modern twist. Our balcony overlooks Whalley Abbey’s grounds, it couldn’t be in a better position. Perfect for Ribble Valley wedding guests, high street shopping, sampling nearby bars & restaurants or simply to enjoy the area's natural beauty. For the more active we have collaborated with a local gym, 1.5miles away, but that’s certainly a personal choice! The Corn Mill Loft is in a converted corn mill, a grade 2 listed building less than 100m from the high street, walk out of the front door into what is viewed as the most attractive street in Whalley, oozing character and charm. Perched on the banks of the River Calder, Whalley is a charming village, filled with historic buildings, characterful shops and lovely cafes and restaurants. Records show that Whalley came into being around 600AD. Whalley is situated in the Ribble Valley; the largest district in Lancashire in terms of area and the majority of which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is well-known for its scenic countryside, delicious food and famous landmarks, the Ribble Valley is at the official centre of the Kingdom and is a place infused with history, holding a wonderfully rich heritage. Explore beyond the village’s boundaries and you’ll find a wealth of walking trails which criss-cross the Ribble Valley. Whalley is also a meeting point for North & South Lancashire Cycleways. The ‘Tolkien Trail’ is a 5.5 mile nearby; the author spent a lot of time at Stonyhurst College working on The Lord of the Rings during WW2.
