Unique log house in VA wine country

Due to COVID-19 Min. stay = 4 nights, April-October w/72 hours between entrant’s. Our log house, Windridge, is close to Leesburg but set in the quiet countryside with views of hundreds of acres of farmland. But we also have had a nice, wide trail cleared around the property; it starts on the right between two boulders and is about ¾ of a mile, including a couple of loops. Often turkeys can be heard and seen as well as deer and even a bear has been caught on camera (hence bungee cords on trash cans). Lots of birds sing all year long with crickets and frogs at times too. Call us at four three four then 535 and twenty five forty and leave a detailed message; we love having others enjoy our gem too! Doors are locked in the basement that are not available to guests and there is a closet in the mudroom/laundry area that has a chain around the handles; any attempt to enter these areas will result in retaining the deposit and possible additional charges via Airbnb and its Resolutions. I am always available but prefer 7am to 9pm and text first, please. I also have a manager that often drives by and can be called, through me, to hopefully assist, if or when I can't. Windridge is close to quaint towns but in the country overlooking over 800 acres of conservation easement farm land. Listen for the wood thrush in the morning and star gazing is easy too at night; be sure to listen to evening sounds of owls and crickets, a peaceful delight on the deck or screened porch. You must have a car and preferably AWD for country roads, especially if there has been rain or snow! NOTE: Windridge was rented with long-term guests (staying months) for most of 2020. 7% occupancy tax has been included in price (please note this when comparing other options) for any stay less than 30 days; 6% state and local sales and use taxes are collected by Airbnb. PLEASE read carefully all House Rules. The internet has been a challenge for those that must have it constantly and so we are trying satellite via HughesNet since 6/9/2020. The speed has been about 35 download and 1.5 upload (without any users in house). We are constantly searching for something better but the outskirts of Loudoun Co are notoriously underserved. Windridge does have some 'arrival needs' (not enough to last the duration of a stay) such as: dish soap, TP, wraps and foils, seasonings, condiments, coffee filters and some tea. I just ask that you replenish if there is not enough for the next group. Our log house is in a fairly wooded area; if you are not familiar with this type of area and have allergies, you might expect them to react when surrounded by this very natural setting and plan accordingly. There are also animals and bugs here; the varied conditions of the environment are not under our control. Windridge also has feather pillows on some of the beds; please just put those in the closet if you bring your own to use while there. Our internet, as of 6/9/2020 is satellite by HughesNet. The download speed has been about 35 Mbps and upload about 1.5 Mbps. We are constantly searching for better options but being in the country we are very limited. We might have to go back to the Mifi, if this doesn’t work better than it did. There are only 3 bedrooms that can be used for sleeping; the maximum amount of guests is 6. We charge an additional fee after the first 2 guests; this allows consideration for those couples wanting to get away for a weekend from Baltimore or DC. Using any other area, other than the beds in the bedrooms, as sleeping space will incur an additional fee. If not upfront with this information, the additional charges will be deducted from the Security Deposit after departure.
