The Barn By Creekside, getaway to get together

The Barn by Creekside is a Pre-Civil War Bank Barn. Original to the location and erected in the 1850's. We have lovingly and uniquely restored it into a barn home with heat, air, and the barn vibe you didn't know you needed! Completed in March, 2019. Located on 30 beautiful acres, a creek runs alongside which can be enjoyed from the large deck. Thoughtfully arranged to gather your people for time away from your normal. Close proximity to Kenyon College, Apple Valley Lake, and Mount Vernon. We have outfitted the home for a very comfortable stay. Favorite uses for the barn so far: Kenyon College visits, Girls' weekend to reconnect in the outdoors, Mens' golf trips, families reconnecting. A fully functional kitchen with all amenities for your use. Coffee, tea, sugar and cream is provided. We will not be allowing weddings or parties onsite now, or in the future. No exceptions. The wear and tear on the property it is not in our best interest. We do not allow anything that may compromise the stays of future guests. While your hosts are local, we are not on property. We are available at all times by text and email. This is a rural Ohio farm experience but still very near all that you require. It is glam inside, but quiet, peaceful, and still a little wild outside. People who book the barn should be interested in a unique barn stay/outdoor experience, not the expectation of a tourist destination (which they will find lacking). Gambier and Mount Vernon are the closest towns. Kenyon College is a couple easy miles away! The entrance to Apple Valley is 6 minutes away. Visible neighbors in only one direction of the property. Basic Shopping and amenities of Mount Vernon are about 5-7 minutes away. About an hour to Columbus suburbs. You will need your own transportation. No Uber or consistent Lyft is in the area. No parties. WIFI: there is a rural monopoly on providers and while we pay for the highest speed they provide, it is nothing to brag about in terms of speed. We charge a 3% county lodging tax that must be left in cash at the property or paid thru the resolution center prior to arrival. I will message you with that amount prior to your visit. New for Summer 2020, folding chairs are onsite to enjoy the firepit. A reasonable amount of wood is provided. Charcoal is not provided for use of the grill. Bring your own beach towels for outdoor play.
